after what age is it consided to be unsafe to have a baby? there are more risks when you become older, right? any information would be great!!! Thanks

My OBGYN said you become a 'high risk' when you become 35. There are plenty of woman who had the first closer to 40.

yeah..Ive heard pretty much teh same thing, but have knwon women who had children in their early 40's also!

My mother's neighbor is having her third at the end of the month. She is 45 years old. Her other two daughters are 24 and 20 years old! They were trying for a boy but are having a girl... Skyla Rose.

I'm not sure about the 'high risk' at age 35.. I know the fertility rate drops at 35. I didn't think the 'risk' set in until higher 30's.. like 37, 38. W/ modern medicine, I think if you're healthy, you have nothing to worry about.

I don't think there is a certain age. Starting at 35 there are more complications that you may face, but that doesn't necessarily mean that every woman has trouble after 35. My aunt had all three of her children after 35 - actually at 35, 37 and 38 - all healthy babies! And my grandmother had my aunt at 48. My poor uncle who was 24 at the time could not go out in public with Grammy, because he couldn't stand the look of shock and horror on the faces of people who assumed he was the FATHER

My aubt was 40 and 46 when she had her babies. They are fine!

It runs in my family- women having children after 35 so hopefully I will be ok since I am 32 and no babas yet.
My mom was 36 when my sister was born, both of my Aunts were 37 with their seconds and my greataunt was 41 with her last.
