Upcoming Allure Trunk Show Reviews?

So I've been putting off bridal gown shopping since there's just so many choices and styles, I didn't want to start looking until I had at least SOME idea of what I wanted lol. Well I found an allure gown I fell in love with (style 9013) and then found they were having a couple trunk shows coming up! September 20-22 at Paradise Bridals in Patchogue, and September 27-29 at Bridal Suite of Centereach.

I was super excited until I started reading reviews and they're horrible! Especially once it's time for the dresses to come in and alterations need to be done. Has anyone had any experience with either of these shops? Was your experience positive and recommended? I know most people only review when they have something negative to say, and the' bridezillas' may have over exaggerated a bit.. But I don't wanna go and love a dress if I'm gonna have horrible follow up experiences!

Any help will be much appreciated!

I ordered my gown at Paradise Bridal and I had no issues. I went early and gave them my wedding date as a month in advance (by recommendation of my consultant, Fanny...I highly suggest asking for her, she was great!). My dress came in November for my March wedding. I changed the date to my real date and just had to pay the balance of the dress.
I started alterations in January because I needed to cut the sleeves off my dress and have the top re-shaped into a sweetheart neckline (it was kind of pointed because of the sleeves) I also lost 30+ lbs before my wedding so my dress literally fell of when I tried it on. The head seamstress did a great job and the dress fit me perfectly.

The only issue I had is with the bustle. She just started pinning like crazy and it was a lot more than I thought it would be, because they charge per point. but it looked great.

You can see pics in my review.

Remember, people usually only post negative reviews, very rarely positive ones.

I will say though that I wish I went somewhere else for bridesmaid dresses. The seamstresses did not really do a good job altering them (different ones than the head seamstress who only does wedding gowns) A lot of my girls had to go back 2, 3, 4 times and it still wasn't right.

Oooh I love Allure dresses!

While I agree too that most people post only negative reviews I know someone personally that had problems with Paradise.
1. They told her her dress would be ready on a specific date and that date came and went. Only after she hounded them and they kept moving the arrival date back she found out they had waited a couple months to actually order her dress because they didn't want to hold onto it for her if it came in early.
2. Her bridesmaids had their dresses altered there and said they were treated like they were idiots and their dresses were never ready for pickup when they were told they would be.
3. Her mom's dress never came in and about 1 month before the wedding they admitted they NEVER ordered it!

Talking to my friend was enough to make up my mind not to go there.

Paradise bridal was so hectic when I went there on a Sunday. They put me in a dressing room where I was going to walk out to some other girls family before my family saw me in the dresses. I asked for something a little more private and I to shoved in a closet in the back. Not my idea of fun!!

I haven't heard good things about either location, and I personally know people who got their dress from there. Their main problem was with the alterations. My gown is an Allure gown too (in fact, when I tried on dresses, my top two choices were both Allure, I love their aesthetic), so great choice! I got my Allure gown from Village Bridal in Babylon. The other Allure gown I had tried on was at Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point. Maybe call those stores and ask them if they have a trunk show coming up? I would also suggest going to the store and actually trying on the gown. I had a favorite choice online as well, but it didn't look good on me at all. I ended up falling in love with a gown style I never thought I would get. So maybe ask the stores I mentioned if they could order you a sample of the style you like, try it on and go from there?

Hi ladies, Just so you are aware Allure and Maggie Sottero will not allow special pricing, even at trunk shows. Fantasia Bridal is a premier vendor and sells at the lowest price the designer gives permission for.
Feel free to email the designers.
Happy Shopping!

I have no input on the 2 stores listed but Bridal world carries Allure. I bought my dress from them :)

Can you buy the dress there and then get alterations somewhere else?

U can always try it on there and have a different salon order it for u. As long as they work with that designer personally.
