Update bday/5 million post contest kinda gave me an idea
Yesterday FH asked me what I wanted for my bday. He was saying how bad he was at buying gifts and he just wanted for me to tell him what I wanted. He mentioned a few things but I wasn't really interested in anything. We went into the city last year. We did a show for his bday too. I figured been there done that.
I'm sooooo bad at asking for things and I almost never buy things that I want for myself. I feel like the money could be spent in better ways.I don't like anyone to make a fuss and go out of their way. I honestly don't like him to overdo it and I feel guilty when I get gifts.
I was planning on let him surprise me anyway but then I started to think.....Since I'm positive I didn't win the contest and I've always wanted an Ipod or mp3 player.....why not let him do that for my bday.
Question is, how do I let HIM think he came up with the idea?

Now my vent. So now my bday has passed.
I know its not about gifts and this is probably really selfish of me to say. I tried to hint about the ipod/mp3 and how dissapointed I was that I didn't win the contest. How I really would have liked one yada yada yada
Stupidly I made the mistake of saying, 'OH I don't really need anything for my birthday'. BIG mistake. FH tends to take thins literally and doesn't get the fact that while I might say it, that's not really what I mean. He gave me a card for my bday, a Bingo scratch off and nothing else. I really need to learn to say what I mean. I should have outright told him what I wanted for my bday.
Admittedly he took me to dinner twice this week for my bday, which was really nice (and not exactly inexpnsive). Last weekend we went to a wine and cheese place in the city, and on my actual bday we went out with some friends.
Again a part of me wanted an actual gift or flowers. I'm not going to say anything to him because I know its selfish to give him a guilt trip.
