UPDATE: do vendors mean to turn us into bridezillas?
i'm seriously starting to think that there is some conspiracy in this industry to turn normal, rational, calm, sweet girls into ranting, raving, emotional bridezillas.
when i started this whole wedding planning process, i made a vow that i would never be a bridezilla. i mean, there just didn't seem to be a need or reason why i would ever have to lose my **** with anyone. granted, i still haven't fully lost it to anyone's face, but my poor fi, mother, and bm's have gotten many an earful.
now, why, you may ask, do i think it's some wedding vendor's intentions to drive us all to the brink? well....
8 months ago: the matchbooks i ordered came in with the wrong colored font, i contacted the vendor about the problem only to have them avoid my calls & emails, lie to me about having called me (hellooow, caller id), and give me attitude about it being the right color (they finally owned up to it being the wrong color and reprinted them but only AFTER they had me send back the mess up ones)
3 months ago: my wedding dress was 4 months past delivery date, the vendor kept telling me she didn't know the status, i finally cancelled my order and disputed the charge only to have the vendor claim that she had called me several times to tell me the dress had arrived and that i refused to come pick up the dress (yeah, because a bride who's calling once a week for months is just going to not come in and get the dress the second she gets the call that it's in! oh, and again i say, hellooow, caller id)
1 month ago: for four weeks i waited for a quote from a recommended vendor in the diamond district on our wedding bands. i called every week only to be told each time that they'd call back with a quote the following week
2 weeks ago: i walk into my tasting to find out that my event planner is no longer with the company and nobody had the decency to tell me before i got there - even after i had emailed them asking if the planner was going to be at the tasting
Today: our new planner is claiming that there is an additional cost for something our original planner agreed to do. AND the vendor who we booked part of our honeymoon with - a 8 day tour - didn't reserve our room in time at one of the locations and wants us to rearrange the portion of the trip that we are not doing with them (already confirmed and paid for i might add) because they need to modify our tour dates.
it's not wonder by the end of this i'm going to be a raving lunatic!
UPDATE: i just came home tonite to a message from the dress vendor (see details in '3 months ago' paragraph) telling me my dress was in and i should call to schedule a fitting.![]()
