PART I Yesterday I was searching thru Craigslist and Vua lah! I found my photographer! www.JadoreLove.com Even though it takes you to his myspace page. His work with his fiance is BEAUTIFUL. If you like photo journalism, Check them out! I am not into having all the fixed poses. I will book with them very soon!
PART II So I went today for a consultation and I loved, loved, loved there work! It's so fresh, young and artistic. Their photos are candid moments that make you want to laugh, cry or jump for joy! Best of all, I got a great deal!!! We loved there energy and sincerity. Which is really important since the photographers will be in your face most of the day. We can see that they love their work and they are not doing it for the money or to take advantage of brides and the wedding industry. All in all, So far so good!

Thats great that you found someone that you are interested in using- definately meet with him and see his work in person and albums- also see if you can talk to any past clients.
I would just be a little leary of picking someone from online without recommendations. Good luck!

Make sure he has an actual address. I found one that was on Craigs and had only a PO. That raised a red flag with DH. Also, make sure they are insured, most halls won't allow them w/o insurance. Additionally, get references and make sure that they don't charge you an arm and leg for O/T or walk out in the middle of the reception. We dealt with a company that added that provision to our contract. We lost our deposit and went elsewhere. Also, make sure he is in NY-Long island or you will have to travel if you need to go to court. How long has he been in business? Really check into them before you sign or give a deposit. I would be leary, IMO, but good luck.

Did you by any chance meet with Efrain Hernandez?? It's just him and his fiance who do the pictures???
I was on craigslist just before Thanksgiving and ran into an ad 'FREE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT'. Basically they were building or updating their webpage and wanted pictures to add to their webpage or whatever.. So I was like. OK I'll bite, lets see what happens.
That night I get an email from Efrain asking for a pic of us.. bla bla bla, I send it and he responds that they would love to do a shoot with us in Central Park.. some place called Angel Hall or something like that... Saturday at 11am. So we go and get a sitter for the kids, buy some outfits, and just as we're leaving Saturday morning, I get a text stating that one of his photographers was sick or something and he was called in to do a wedding last minute.. OOOK.. not an issue.. It happens.. He said he would get in touch after the wedding to re-schedule.. I emailed him once or twice after that.. I've never heard from him again.. And I'll add that it wasn't about a freebie.. I told him that we hadn't booked a photographer yet, and that it would be a great chance to see how he works and see some of his past work.. So it was potential business for 'them'..
I don't mean to freak you out.. It's just an FYI... I'd hate to see anyone get jerked out of hard earned money. Just be careful please.. I mean, the least he could have done was called to say I'm not interested in giving you a free shoot.. or ANYTHING for that matter.. But the fact that I got no phone call and no response to my inquiry.... Not a good feeling..

Oh my! oh my! look at that! It is the same guy! Now i'm biting my finger nails. But I think I am going to take a chance! Thank you so much for letting me know. I will keep my eye out for any fishyness going on. I am sorry to hear about your experience and I pray to God he doesn't flake out on us. Did you ever find a photographer?

Well you never know.. I might have just been an only incident... Just cover all of your bases and ask alot of questions, etc... I absolutely love the work on his webpage that's why I was so disappointed when he flaked... We haven't found a photographer yet, but we're working on it.. Good luck and let me know how things go.
