What are the benefits? Something about points? I am trying to decide between macy's and bloomies.

They give you rewards- you get 5% on all of your registry purchases and 10% on all of your purchases (on your macys card). I shop there allll the time so it made sense for me. Also, I like how they have a nice mix of super nice things and inexpensive lines.

You have to have a Macy's cc...I signed up for one just for the rewards. Once your wedding is over they send you GC for 5% of the total $ purchased off your registry...it seems like an awesome idea.

So, I was immediately turned off by the woman at macy's - I explained that FH and I were shopping around before setting up our registries and wanted to know the benefits of registering at macy's - she told us the benefit is 'being registered at macy's' . . . we were not impressed. She didn't even ask us to sit down as she explained the rewards and points and all that. The woman at Bloomingdale's was amazing. Super nice and helpful. We will be registering there!!

this is why we registered at Macys....I didn't really like the woman either but this benefit was huge for us considering that they allowed me to attach my mom's macys card to the registry. she has a black macys card which is basically like have a black amex card, she buys everything from there!

We are registered at both Bloomingdales and Macy's. FH originally wanted to go with Bloomindales so we did one there, then 2 weeks later were told by my family that Macy's has our china for the same price but includes free soup bowls with it. They have a lot of the same stuff that Bloomingdales had except Macy's seems to give out more cupons and has more sales. I think Macy's is better for the value and if I had it to do over, I'd probably have just done everything at Macy's. We already moved all of our china to the Macy's registry.

So sorry you had a bad experience. I had an amazing experience when I open the registry, but we recently went back to edit our registry and didn't have a great experience at all, it was very frustrating!

That is so funny because yesterday they were having this promotion at bloomingdale's on certain sets of china! I keep wanting and trying to like macy's because of these benefits, but FH and I never shop at department stores, and don't have a macy's card, so it doesn't seem like the benefit would be that great. Also, this is interesting, but macy's completion program is only good for 90 days after the weddign whereas bloomies goes for 6 months and they said they would honor it as long as 9 months after the wedding! I can't imagine being ready to complete our registry within 90 days after our honeymoon and making final payments to our wedding vendors.

$10, I only have $3 so far. We also had a good experience when we registered at Macy's.

How do you find out how much money you have? Is there a way you can track your rewards online, or will they just randomly send you notices?

I honestly chose our places (Macys' and BBB) based on where I know our guests feel comfortable shopping in terms of both merchandise/prices/atmosphere as well as geographical location. A place like Bloomingdales is a lot less accessible to my family, plus they did not have my china and offered a lot more expensive fine gifts, which I didn't think was fair to my family. The 'perks' for registering at Macys were just extras but didn't make any decision.

and i think after ur wedding ur suppose to get 15% off all ur registry items that u still need to buy. i did macys and bed bath and beyond and almost everyone bought stuff off of bbb and not macys because of price. i got a rewards statement from macys the other day about my '5%' back so far and its only $2.74 lol.

We're using Macy's and BBB because we felt they were the best choices for our guests. We specifically signed up for the Macy's cc too so we could get the rewards from it. I had a decent experience when I went there. Wasn't great, but wasn't terrible either. Sorry you weren't happy.
