UPDATE - My 10-05-07 wedding is now happening 11-04-06!!

this is an update to my earlier post about how i've been having extreme issues with my mom and it made me change my wedding plans (ie cancel the original plans) and do it sooner, much sooner.

so fh and i will now be getting married 11-04-06 (in 6 weeks) and it is going to be completely different from what was originally planned (church, formal, reception at vm, over 100 people). now we will be getting married in central park (my mom is a devout parishoner at her church and she knows the priests and he said he would marry us in central park), it will be casually chic, approx 30 people TOTAL including family and fh and i, and a dinner at a restaurant in the city.

so it is a huge difference. my mom and i had an all out earlier today, but somehow, miraculously, she came around. i told her that the wedding is taking on a life of its own and that i don't think all the drama, anxiety, fighting is worth it. after all a wedding is all about a marriage and somehow the marriage part was getting lost in the whole process.

i guess she agreed. so she helped me find the priest b/c she practically insisted we get married in a church. i am completely happy with a church or with a priest in the park.

photog is booked, priest is set, dinner is pretty much set, and i will be looking for ANOTHER dress this weekend since my original dress that i ordered in july won't be in until january.

i know that everything happens for a reason and i always did dream of a new york city wedding and now i am actually having it!!!!

you seem happy and THAT'S what matters. congratulations!! 6 weeks... so are you missing out on the '69' LIW tradition? it'll be great - you're right about keeping in mind what truly matters and not letting one day take on a life of it's own... and you are going to have a beautiful and memorable day! congrats again!!

we are scrambling but - guess what - i am SOOOO EXCITED and soooo happy!!!!! i'm actually enjoying this and looking forward to it.

i will keep you posted as things progress and will certainly post pics once i get them.
