Am I the first 08'er that didnt like their make up trial at all?!! I'm not going to say who it was with ( not an LIW vendor) but i will say that i didnt like it at all. I'm nervous that i wont like my next trial. Any tips for what i should do on the next one? Bring pics or something?

Why didn't you like it? Was it the colors or how it was applied?

Maybe try different colors or less makeup. Not sure what kind of makeup but maybe try airbrush

Re: Update on Make up Trial
i know theres been others who didn't like their trials...and even in general not just for the make up but youre not always gonna like how somebody does your hair and make up...if you just didnt like their work then def look, but also keep in mind that sometimes girls think they know what they want, they'll tell the make up artist to do dramatic look and the MU artist will do exactly what they were told but its just that the bride doesn't like how dramatic the make up is but thats not the MU artists fault.
BUT either book a trial with someone else, or go back and tell her what you don't like...i mean the point of a trial is to see what looks best on you, to see if you like what your ideas are or what the aritsts do and see what you can change

I liked the colors. Here's the thing, i usually where foundation thats a shade or two darker than my skin and i'm kind of obsessed with bronzer. The MU artist did the right thing i guess by matching my foundation with my skin and then using blush but i thought i looked soooo white with pink cheeks - it just didnt look like me. I tried to tell her but she seemed to know what she was doing. i guess maybe i will try her again and explain it more. i also have another one scheduled with a different MU artist next week.

LOL well actually it looked more like you since she didnt put foundation darker than you are...did you tell her from the beginning you wanted darker foundation? bc if not then all make up artists are gonna match the foundation to your skin and even if you ask ithink theyre gonna suggest you stick to it closer to your skin color. Are you 100% sure you want to wear foundation thats 2 shades darker than you are? in pics this shows alot, like the difference in your face and the rest of your body. If you want to look darker, then how about tanning...thats what i am gonna do

how about tanning now so you can see what you will look like for your wedding since you said you'll have a tan. I look pale in my MU trial pics well compared to how i would like to look but the make up itself came out great, i cant blame her for how pale i am. I am sure once you have a tan you'll and get a MU trial, you'll feel better

Re: Update on Make up Trial
Try different people, but remember this is your wedding day...you really should match up because, like Denise said, it REALLY shows in pics if it dosen't match...good luck and shop around...that's why you have trials!

Re: Update on Make up Trial
sorry that you didnt like your trial- but I think Espo is right about the foundation- can you go tanning or airbrush before your next trial- maybe that will give you a better idea of what it will look like?

Re: Update on Make up Trial
i didn't love either one. but it's hard for me b/c i don't wear a ton of makeup. every color lipstick looks orange on me except brown and my face is long so i hate the way i look in pics.
i liked the 2nd a little better than the first. i want a natural look but you tell them that and it's almost too natural like it won't show up in pics.
so i know what you mean.

thanks for all the advice girls. think i am going tanning tonight. and i am going to try airbrush. I think its just like denise said, that its not how i want to look at my wedding because i know i want to be tan. I also think it was just toooo much makeup for my skin tone. I have the next one on monday- i'll keep you girls posted. thanks again!

I think that you should tan a couple of times, to get a little darker THEN go for a MU trial so that you can get a better idea of how you'll look then. I wouldn't go darker for your wedding JMO With a white/ivory dress on, your face will not blend with your body and I think it will really show both in person and in pics. I'd tan 2-3 before you go, then ask for a bronzer finish opposed to blush (if you don't like the pinkish cheek look)....good luck!
