Update on my Dads medicine situation

A few weeks back I asked for prayers for my dad cause he was having a hard time getting his medicine. Well..... he got a phone call today from the phamacutical company and they found a case of them that they will send him. This case will be good for 6 months worth of medicine. So right now he is set till November. The dr is still trying to find someone to manufacture this drug and he is still having a hard time.

But....at least he is set for 6 more months while the Dr is trying to do his thing. A little relief on my part.

That's great news! Now it buys you guys some time to figure out what your next move will be. At least you know that he's covered for six months, and now you can work on getting something settled for past that.

wow...they stopped making his meds? is there anything close to it> I don't know what he's on or his medical history but I know that there are similar drugs in the same family...can he migrate to those?

but either way I would have been terrified if they didn't make the drugs my dad takes if he needed them.

Yes it is horrible- he has a form of a skin cancer called Mycosis Fungoides. There are other options but it doesnt work as well as the medicine he has been using. It is a huge relief though that he will have some for a while until they can work on something else

I totally understand about having to stay w a certain med that works....or dumping it bc it doesn't.

at least you have 6 mos worth and can research a bit during that time.
