Update on Paul...almost 22 months...

Original post by Claud2001

I haven't posted an update on my superstar in awhile, so I thought I would take the opportunity to share.

Paul is a motor-mouth these days...he's repeating just about ANYTHING we say, so conversations in our house have become either very sensored or we spell things out now! LOL! He's able to communicate what he wants VERY well - whether he uses words, or hand gestures (like waving us into another room to watch him play!) - he definitely knows how to get his meaning across. I think he can say upwards of 60 words now!

He is also very into cleaning! This makes Mommy happy -> My roommate from college says that Paul has become ME! LOL! She totally sees my cleaning/neat-freak habits in him already -> I hope that's not a bad thing! He is IN LOVE with the vacuum cleaner - he can spend HOURS just taking apart the attatchments and re-attatching them! I am just awe struck by the fact that he knows the ins and outs of how the vacuum cleaner works - how do they learn these things so soon? Amazing!

One of his first loves is BASEBALL! I am THRILLED by this! Little League here we come! His uncle bought him a baseball with a glove for his 1st bday, and he just LOVES to play with them! One of the funniest things he did...one night after finishing dinner...DH and I were chatting at kitchen table, and Paul was playing in the den....he comes over to us, asking to play catch....we look down, and he's wearing a ball cap (on backwards), his glove on one hand, and the baseball in another! DH and I just melted right there.......how could we resist THAT? We were on the floor, playing catch in two seconds FLAT! Ahhh...the joys of parenting!

Paul cannot be trusted on his rocking horse or rocking trike - he will push himself so hard that he tips himself over! He can climb onto the kitchen chairs without our help, and does not want to sit in the highchair anymore. When we went out to eat on Saturday nite, he sat in a booster seat (without straps) for the first time!

I'm glad to report that he's still as sweet and affectionate as ever - Mommy gets many kisses and hugs throughout the day, as does Daddy. Daddy is still his *favorite* person in the world, but Grandpa and Great-Grandpa do run a very close second and third!

We go back to the pediatrician for his routine well-visit near his 2nd birthday, but I've been weighing him once in awhile at home. He is still under 25 lbs...very long and lean...
Here's a recent list of the words that he can say...the paranthesis indicate the way in which Paul pronounces the words! LOL...now I know why they say only the parents can understand their own child! LOL!

Thanks for letting me share!
