I know a lot of you read my last post about our photographer that kept going MIA. I sent him a cancellation email on Friday and put the signed copy in the mail today. (I tried contacting him Wednesday about the status of our second batch of STDs with no luck) ...
...So tonight he calls and leaves a message and says the new ones are in to call him so I can drive out to him to get them. He doesn't even know we fired him! How have you not checked your email since Wednesday of last week?!
Now of course I start to feel bad like I was too harsh on him. But this is the PHOTOGRAPHER! I don't think they should be impossible to get a hold of.
Also, the 'correct' STDs came in awfully fast for only having been ordered on Wednesday. Obviously he never ordered them when he was supposed to the first time, otherwise they wouldn't have taken a month to come in!
Please guys, reassure me that I'm not being too harsh. I feel bad now, even though I feel we had every right to fire him

I think you made the right decision. Can you imagine what it will be like trying to get albums made by this guy? If you need a new photographer there are a bunch of us here who can help you!

Don't rethink your decision! You don't want a photographer who can't remember the MAJOR detail of how to spell your name! Imagine how he could possibly remember to get all the shots you want? And you wouldn't feel comfy on your day knowing you had to be on his behind to do everything correctly.. Which doesn't even TOUCH on the fact that I can only imagine how crazy your album picks would go by this guy. You made the right choice!

This!! I cant even imagine what this photographer would be like for the wedding and how would you be able to get in touch with him to get the photos. You don't need any more stress on top of an already stressful day. You definitely made the right decision

Definitely stick to your decision!! Find a photographer who works with you. Not one that ignores you and gets things wrong. You'll be happy in the end.

You guys are seriously the BEST! Thank you all for your input and reassurance! I really do not have the desire to speak with this guy... I already sent the cancellation email and letter, I don't think I owe any more explanation. Hopefully this is the last of this!

Definitely not being too harsh. Even if you feel badly your gut is telling you something is wrong, don't try to spare his feelings at your expense. He is a professional and should act like one. its his own fault he has lost you as a client. Id ditch him asap!
