I'm going running for the first time in my life with FH's sister after work and I am DREADING IT!!!! I told her to prepare for me passing out on the ground and dying before her eyes because I don't see me lasting very long!

Re: OYYYY
are you doing it on a track?? run the straights and walk the curves - we used to call it 'fartlick' during field hockey pre-season LOL
but if not, just make small goals. like 'run to that light post' then walk to the next - and remember breath through your nose and out through your mouth!
good for you though for doing it!!!!

Re: OYYYY
hey good for you! Id die if I ran. 1 - my boobs are wayyy too big. I'd give myself black eyes and 2- I'm so out of shape. oh 3 - I'm REALLY uncoordinated. I'd probably break my freaking leg or something.

Thank girls! I'll update you later in the day if I can make it to my computer LOL
The funny thing is I do run on the treadmill (occassionally) but whenever I try to run outside it just seems more tiring to me. You would think it would be opposite considering the treadmill can get boring and at least outside I have more options.

No, it's true, your body works harder outside than treadmill and you're dealing with wind resistance. They say you should run with a slight incline on your treadmill to account for this.
I did cross country in hs and then became a treadmill runner. Now when I run outside I get winded so easily!!!

Re: UPDATE: OYYYY
well I did it. I ran for 1 mile straight and then walked for a half mile and then we did crunches til it hurt. My calves are killing me, I'm pretty sure I worked a muscle in my thighs I never worked out before, and I'm pooped.
