I'm going next week!!! Has anyone been to one?? What should I expect?? I know.. I should have had my dress but I've been undecided!!
ETA: I had the TIME OF MY LIFE!!! and ....... I found THE DRESS - Demetrious Satin Corset Dress!!!! ..... You just know its the one 'Once you lay eyes on it'!!!
I'm soooo excited!!! I found it and I have to do minor alterations and add a little more swaroski rhinestones and beads that my alterations lady has ALREADY!!!!! Also, everyone was helpful to one another... I got super emotional when I got it!! when you start to think ' This is what I'm going to be wearing when I marry the man of my dreams!!'... It was surreal!!!
I appreciate all the support and encouragement... To Gina and Gloria .... Plus all the girls!!!
All the pics are in my folder... Can't upload them... !!

Re: Running of the Brides - Atlanta
I've never been to one but i did a research paper on it for class lol. It can get very crazy. Try to get there early. They suggest you bring a large sign that says what type of dress you are looking for like style, size and color so you can barter with brides. Also wear like leggings and a tank because you will be changing in front of everyone including TV cameras. Also bring a few ppl with you to carry the dresses and all wear the same colors so you can find each other in the crowd.

I went to it last yr and you should either be their really early or go after lunch. If you get there and you are waiting in line then you will be waiting for dresses.

Re: Running of the Brides - Atlanta
My friend did it, she was on the extras on the 27 Dresses DVD. You should watch that.
Here is what she said... Bring a team and something to make your team stand out. Headbands, bright shirts, hats, etc. Have everyone run and get as many dresses as possible without paying attention to the dress, while you look for the right dress. Even if you think they are ugly, the more dresses you have the more you can barter.

Re: Running of the Brides - Atlanta
I went this year. I too went later in the day and honestly it was so much more calm. Are you taking Greyhound? I actually would love to go again is it really far? I don't drive.
I ended up leaving a dress and now since then I have been kicking myself for doing it. I should have bought both!! I might use the one I bought for the reception not the ceremony. I'm not 100% happy. Why did I leave the other dress?!!!

Re: Running of the Brides - Atlanta
This doesn't have anything to do with the running of the brides, but it does involve wedding dresses. Pronovias is having a sample sale at their flagship store in manhattan on Saturday March 21, where you can save up to 75% on a dress.

Thanks... I got a good deal.. And the price tag was incredible!! But just know it had one of the highest price tags!! But I didn't care!! I knew once I saw it.. It was going to be mine and I did it!! I didn't have to get ghetto on anyone.. But I did get my snob on when they tried to take all 13 dresses I got!!
