Not sure if some of you girls remember my complaint, but let me refresh your memory... I was upset that my Banquet manager at my RH never told me what types of liquor I was receiving on the day of my wedding and that I didn't know what the diff. between premium and top shelf were--but something she failed to mention to me as a BM. Some of you girls suggested that I called and found out before I jumped to conclusions...so I did.... here is my RANT:
Okay...so now I'm just pissed and NO longer sad!!! I emailed my Banquet Manager as you girls suggested that I do, and I was def. right. The premium liquors that she's mentioned to me, doesn't sound like Premium if you asked me!!!!! She even had the nerve to email me and tell me that for a $3.00 pp upgrade, I can get all the liquors I've requested. I'm sooo heated because why wasn't this mentioned to me before???? Why wasn't that option given to me at the signing of my contract? Some future brides were smart enough to ask what type of liquor they were receving on the day of their wedding, but that was never a question that came to my mind to ask, given the location and the amount per head I was paying and especially given that this is my first time planning a wedding so how was I to know this was an issue!?!?!?
Am I wrong to assume that the Banquet Manager should have told me this from the beginning and laid this all on the line?
If there are any ladies out there that plan on using Crest Hollow Country Club for their wedding reception, please be sure to ask them about their damn liquor...b/c God forbid you don't...it's your fault!!!! FM me if you need to know the name of the Banquet Manager to avoid her unprofessional services!!! I'm paying wayyy too much money for her nonsense!

Re: UPDATE to Pissed and Sad
Weird... my parents did the negotiating with my RH and we have the top-shelf liquor but I dont know if they had to negotiate that or not. I assumed it came standard.
That's a little sketchy on the part of your RH, IMO. What liquors are they including? Absolut as opposed to Grey Goose? As long as it's not Popov... hahaha
Yes, I think it'd be nice to get the absolute top of the line stuff considering how much $$ they get from us, but I'd save your $$ and stick with what your K says rather than pay an extra $3/pp.
Maybe you can try to negotiate with them? tell them how upset you are, you think they were being deceptive, you think they should throw it in. If they say no, tell them you will tell all of your friends. They don't want the bad publicity and it doesn't cost them much in the scheme of things...

Thank you! I totally feel deceived from her failing to mention this. The part that pisses me off is that When you stay at the Four Seasons, you expect a certain level of experience, quality, and service without it having to be stipulated because that’s their reputation, compared to when you stay at a local motel/hotel. Being that I chose a place as Crest Hollow, based on reputation and price, I was under the impression that the services and quality of items were top of the line.
The thing with this BM is that she's not informative at all!!!! A lof ot my concerns I found out from other brides of Crest Hollow and only then after I've asked her did she mention to me. Other stuff included food tasting..I DID NOT know that Crest Hollow did not do food tasting. Also, the cake included in our package...it's a standard cake, you can't choose from diff. designs, and now the liquor situation! I'm soooo heated! I wouldn't be so upset if I wasn't paying this much, because then I could've said 'You get what you paid for,' but in this case..I SHOULD get what I paid for!

Re: UPDATE to Pissed and Sad
Im sorry this is happening to you. knowing your liq selection is very important. I had my BM fax me over a copy asap to know what Im getting. Ask to talk to someone higher than a BM. They messed up they should do something extra for you. Have them add on something to your CH or upgrade on your cake. Hope everything works out. Are you still having your reception there?

Re: UPDATE to Pissed and Sad
Something you need to keep in mind - this place is working for you - you're the boss! Even though you have a contract you signed with them so you are stuck in certain areas, this should not be the end. You should not just have to accept what this BM is telling you now after the contract is signed.
I suggest trying to go over her head to someone higher up. I wouldn't try to get nasty with them, cause you do still plan to have your wedding there, and you don't want them labeling you as a problem. But politely ask to speak to the person who is in charge (assuming this BM is not the head person). Tell them you want to speak to the owner. I know they're not going to be so free to give out that information. But I always find it helpful to stay polite and say 'listen, I know you're just doing your job, and you're just doing what you're supposed to do, so at this point I would like to speak to the head manager/owner regarding my concerns and hear this from them myself.' Sometimes this freaks the people out cause they don't want to bother their boss/get in trouble, so they might start to work with you more.
Also, while they're saying how you can pay $3.00 pp to get top shelf liquor - does it say anywhere in the contract that your menu includes just this premium liquor? I say if the menu they gave you is blank in regards to the type of liquor, or it's not listed on your contract, you should throw that back in their face and say well yes my contract might not say top shelf liquor, but it also does not say premium liquor comes in this package. Therefore, nothing was ever agreed upon, and you should be given top shelf liquor, for no extra money, because that's what it usually standard, and they lose out by not specifying the type of liquor ahead of time.
Obviously what I'm saying is no guarantee to totally change your situation. But it might help. I think it doesn't hurt to try to negotiate again and get this stuff thrown in at this point without paying more!!!

I am surprised because every RH I visited to me top shelf liquor. I agree you should demand it, they don't lose anything if they give you the liquors you request. How much did you put down already? I would threaten to back out...those bas*ards.

Re: UPDATE to Pissed and Sad
I'm a CHCC bride and I had a food tasting and my BM told me there is a book of cakes to chose from and if I didn't like one of those, then I could just bring in a picture of whatever cake I want. I don't remember asking about top shelf liquor because it's not as important to me if people get Absolute instead of Grey Goose. Which particular brands of liquor did you want that they won't include??? Sorry you are having such a rough time...you can ask for a BM change....my BM is Tom and is AMAZING

Re: UPDATE to Pissed and Sad
Wow! You definitely want top shelf liquor if you can get it. It just tastes better. Problem is a lot of catering halls will tell you that you are getting top shelf and then pull the old switch-a-roo on you. They figure nobody will know the difference. Fred's cousin who is in the catering business warned us about this. Usually what they do is put out the top shelf bottles, so guests see them, but actually pour something else into the glass. I agree that we as brides should get what we pay for and that is a crappy deal when the catering manager is not completely honest and upfront with you. Definitely tell guests to ask for a specific brand of liquor in their drinks to make sure they get it. Some guests probably will not care, but some will know the difference.

Re: UPDATE to Pissed and Sad
I'm so sorry that they did that to you... I agree with those that said that since they didn't tell you negotiate that you get the top shelf liquor! $3 p/p does add up to be alot more money!
All the RH we went to FH and I didn't want to have a evening wedding (since the date we have is a Sunday) so we were really looking for the beer, wine and soda - not many drinkers in the crowd we have coming but most told us that if that we did the open bar that it would be X amount p/p and if there was a premium liquor charge or not.
It was wrong of them not to tell you and I would definitely negotiate it!

i have to chime in as a chcc bride also... because fh and I also were offered a food tasting. as far as the liquor, im honestly not that concerned because my people would drink moonshine if it's free.. but fh is because his dad likes johnny walker blue.. so he asked at every reception hall about that.. although we're NOT getting johnny walker blue, we're getting top shelf.
please check with your banquet manager.. pm me and i'll give u the name of mine and you can ask to switch perhaps. we weren't given a 30 page selection of akes but we were shown about 10 to choose from.stacked, rounds, tiered. etc. with flowers without.
