I've been sooo lazy planning this wedding. I don't know where to start. So far, all I have is the church and hall. I need to start booking all my vendors, but it is soo hard!! I'm going to meet with a few DJ's this week... Any suggestions on how to NOT be sooo lazy!!

No seriously, you still have some time. I would also begin booking some photographer appointments! It may take weeks to get an appointment. Then get you buut out there and start looking for a dress!! Some take several months to order. BM dresses come in much sooner and you can wait on that! Book your florist after the DJ and Photo. Good people often book up quickly!! Good luck!

I get lazy too. This past week I finally started making calls again. Force yourself to sit down and make phone calls inquiring whether vendors are available and making appointments if they are. That's what I did. Or you can even do it over email. Good luck!

Make a list of what you need to do and set deadlines by which you intend to get each thing done by. Then stick to it!!! Give someone, like your MOH, a copy of the list and ask them to nag you until you get everything done. Kind of like a personal trainer for your wedding planning!! Good luck!!!

I was the same way, and it was so annoying b/c everyone asks you every time you see them 'How's the wedding planning going?' So I just grabbed a bunch of magazines and started looking through and that got me inspired to start planning. I organized myself with a binder and I pull out everything I like from the mags. Like different photography shots, table/flower arrangements. Plus, I ask friends for advice and vender recommendations. You'll get into it once you find a theme or color that you really like. Try to find a timeline in a planner that fits your style and try to stick to it. Everything will fall into place once you get into it and it will be fun!

Re: Ladies! I need help...honestly!!!
I set a goal for myself of two major vendors per month.
I got engaged in July.
In August I booked the hall, got my officiant, and ordered my dress.
In September, we picked a photographer, booked the honeymoon, booked the DJ, and ordered wedding bands.
For October, I am doing florists, and limos, and whatever else I get motivated to do (probably invitations).
For November, BM dresses, FG dress, and whatever else I get motivated to do (if not already done in October).

Re: Ladies! I need help...honestly!!!
i would say if you are on the computer a lot, then make yourself an excel spreadsheet and make a list of what you need to do, how much you owe, and when to pay it by. that way you at least have a timeline of when to get it done. i update my spreadsheet all the time adding people to the guest list and addresses. that way its not as stressful later on.

DJ and Photographer are most important to book right now. Basically, just compile a list of potentials, think about what sort of services you want and then make appointments and ask lots of questions. Once you get moving, you'll get in the mood and it will get done, trust me. I've gone through my lazy phases but just found something to inspire me and kept on trucking. You'll get there.

Jeanine!! As others have said you have time, but warning...some of your first choice vendors may be booked if you wait too long! That is what made me get my butt in gear!! As for another DJ suggestion, I too liked Starlight Express, try Bravura. Not much less $, but similar style.
Good Luck!! Let me know if you need any other assistance!!

I swear I am like his official spokesperson .... but again, Vinny from High Voltage. He had the best price of all the DJs and I saw and the only one that I felt comfortable with. Check him out; he's a vendor on here.
