Why is it that my couch was delivered today and yet again, couldnt fit though the fcukin door.... This one cant be returned though so now we need the couch doc to cut it up... Life is never freakin easy for us ...
Oh yea, and our parents are coming out today too... and the apt was suppossed to be completely finished and now its a freakin distaster bc i now have couch cushions everhwere and a mattress sittin in my living room... im gonna fcukin scream
UPDATE: Dad is a blessing and squeezed the couch through.... he saved us $100 bucks and the couch is in 1 piece... thank god it was flexible bc the movers werent that gutsy with it (understandably) .... ahhh it feels so great now to be almost done with the whole apt...

Ugh, I know how you feel. I went through that with the couch when we first moved in together. We ended up having to get a sectional couch that came in 3 pieces! I know it sounds really crazy, but can you somehow pull it in through the window? That was not an option for us because we were on the 5th floor of a walkup.
Don't let the stress overwhelm you...its rough, but think of how great everything is going to look when its finished!!!!!!!!!!!

aw, don't feel bad, our house is a disaster as well. i'm sure it will work out with the couch. we ordered closest doors that couldn't fit into the elevator cause they were too high but they were exactly the same size as the previous doors. go figure how they got them up there in the first place.

OMG i actually KNOW how you feel right now....
we moved into a basement apartment - brought all of our furniture - last piece was our couch that i - at the time we only had the large sofa and a square leather ottoman - the sofa is oversized, so big and comfy.....
well it wouldnt fit into the new apartment....and while trying to squeeze it in, my FH and FBIL ripped it! i was SOOOOOOOOOO upset......not only was our NEW couch that i loved, ripped, but we couldnt even use it because it wouldnt fit in the apartment....
SO we had to order the love seat and chair and that is what is in our apartment now - the couch (with the rip in it ) is in my FH's old bedroom at his parents house - we'll take it back when we get a house......
we tried calling that couch doctor dude, the one thats saws the couch and the re-upholsters it, but for the price of having him come (it would be 2 times, when we moved in and then again to get the couch out when we move into a house) we decided to just order the 2 other pieces of the set....
SO AGGRAVATING.....i remember crying hysterically when they couldnt get the couch in....

This *****. The best furniture for small spaces is Jennifer. The arms/legs come right off, and the width is designed for tight squeezes. It worked for me! The worst right now is that i cant fit a queen box spring in my apartment...so fh and I sleep on a cheap *** ikea one that doesnt require a box. It suxs!!!

Awww girl that $ucks. I hope that you guys have maybe another way of getting it in? Maybe through a window like someone already suggested? And don't worry about the apartment not being finished- I went to a housewarming party of a friends and we all sat on patio furniture and had a blast! So I am sure they won't mind. Hang in there- it will work out!

ha the only thing we kept was the TV and omg that was such a pain to get up and down the stairs
GOOD LUCK GINA!

I'm so sorry Gina!! I completely know what you're going through. When Chris and I moved to PA 10 months ago, we bought a brand new couch. We just moved into a new place and the couch didn't fit in the elevator or up the stairwell. Now we have to buy ANOTHER brand new couch... NOT something I wanted to waste money on right now, especially since my other couch was less than a year old!!!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you! I lived on the 3rd floor of an old victorian and couldn't fit ANYTHING up there. I had to buy all of my furniture from places like Ikea so that I could put it together up there. I also found a sectional couch that came in pieces like someone above mentioned.
