We went yesterday to give our final payment. This meeting didn't go so well. I'm having a very small wedding on the second floor of this location, I was told to be aware that I'm not going to have a preference when it comes to taking pictures in the gardens. The brides that have a bigger party and have booked the ground floors, will be the ones to go first. I so upset; I booked this place because of the grounds. When I told them that I wanted to take pictures in the afternoon before it gets dark, I was told, again, that it just couldn’t happen due to 2 other weddings on the ground floor. I'm so disappointed in this place. They totally made me fill like the don't really care for brides with a smaller wedding. I also had a Matron 'd that has been there for a while, so I was pretty happy. But yesterday, they told me that he had to be changed (to a new guy). Are you kidding me?? Obviously, because my party is small they gave me the new guy.
I want to cry.... I won't disclose their name, but you can FM me.
UPDATE: Got a call from Owner, but I was in a meeting. He left me a message saying that if I arrived on time (1.5 hours before the my cocktail hour) I can have ONE part of the grounds - the gazebo... I just left him a message b/c I paid ALOT of money and I want to take pictures in different parts of the garden.... urghf

This is soo wrong! I am also having a small wedding (100-120) and I found that when I was RH shopping so many locations discriminate against smaller weddings. I understand the whole business aspect of it to an extend, but I am also paying thousands of dollars and I want the same treatment! Some told me straight out that they would be lossing money with me because they could get a bigger party and get more. Can you believe that? Whether true or not, you just don't say that.

That is ridiculous! Just because you are having a small wedding does not mean that yours is less important! If they cannot handle having all the brides take pics outside then they should not have booked 3 weddings at the same time! I would speak to the owner. Also, if you don't get what you want you should reflect it in the tips you give to them. And I would give them a bad review or warn other people - I believe the wedding business is all about reputation

Besides this I really hope you have an amazing wedding

Oh no...Im so sorry they are treating you that way. I dont understabnd why the size of your bridal party makes your wedding day less important than everyone elses that day....you paid for it just as they did! My @ss would be walking out in those gardens and taking my pictures....just like everyone else.

I hope all goes well for you and you dont have anymore of this drama. Just dont let it ruin your day...have fun and enjoy yourselves

Go there and ask to speak with the owner immediately, this is BS -- you're a bride too, why r u the one getting stiffed? you're paying for your wedding just like the other 2 brides, everyone should be given time in the afternoon to take pics in their garden.

can you FM me the RH bc a few of my friends are shopping around, i want them to steer clear!

I would say... That's unacceptable mr owner... and i'm going to definately report this if I'm not getting what I'm paying for. I didnt book this place and pay to NOT be able to have free reign on the grounds. It's bad enough that you took away my matre d and gave me the new person because it's a smaller party... but why should I not have a chance to have pictures with the background that I booked this place for? I would mention every single newspaper, radio show, bbb, reporting site.,.. liw that I can think of. And I WOULD actually start posting about it all.

you can even tell him you already started and didn't disclose the name of the place yet... but you fully intend to if they don't let you take pictures where you planned.

This is absurd!! I can't believe this. It's sooo unethical.

If they are going to book that many weddings on one day... they need to do some better scheduling with the pictures so that you all get a chance to take pictures.

And you are right... what are they going to do? Stop you if you walk right over to where you want to be to take the pictures.

It's situations like these that make me glad I searched for a one wedding venue. I just can't deal with that crap. I'm sorry you have to go through this so close to your wedding. It's awful and unnecessary stress that shouldn't be imposed upon you.

Kerri - thank you so much for all your supoport. I'm waiting for him to return my call. I did leave this on his V/M. I'm going to raise hell if I don't get to take pictures on the different locations on the ground.

I agree tell them you booked the place for the gardens and if you cannot have access then you should get a discount on how much you are paying per person. I can't believe how unreasonable they are being. Even if you have a small wedding its not like your wedding is a couple of hundred dollars. You are paying a lot of money and should be treated the same regardless of how many guests you have. That is incredibly rude of them to tell you this the week of your wedding!

Wow... just read your update and I'm kinda speechless.

My thoughts.... just go there and do whatever the heck you want. You'll be fast at each location, and your photographer will know what to do. Also, call him this week and let him know what the RH is saying about your restricted use of the grounds and what does he think you guys can do to get around it. Your photog has the experience and knows exactly where to go to get the best shots.

We did pics at the hotel before going to the RH and again at the RH and by the Milleridge Village. There are some cute shots, but even if we didn't have the village shots, I think I would've been happy with our choices. Even inside the room, we got some really lovely shots on the dance floor and by the windows during the CH that are so beautiful and artistic.

Your photog will know exactly what to do. Don't worry!!! You'll get a zillion amazing pics, despite this annoying setback, and will have too many wonderful ones to choose from for your album.

WOW I would keep yelling until they were deaf! That is SO unacceptable. This is why I don't like places that are wedding factories (we were told by 1 place that they do up to 4 weddings at once).

I would tell the owner that you booked the place for 2 reasons: You liked the grounds & trusted the MD. Now they're sticking you with a new guy and not letting you use the facility. Tell them that you don't care about the other party on your wedding day because you both have contracts for the RH. Tell them that nowhere in your contract did it say you wouldn't be able to use the grounds for photography and they certainly didn't compensate you for such in your per person price! Who knows if and where the other party will even want to take photos and you shouldn't be planning your day on their preferences. They need to work it out so that all of their brides are able to access the property!

I am sorry you have to deal with this. Is another bride having her CH in the garden while you want to take pictures? I think it is terrible that the RH is unable to work with you. As for the bridal suite...ours was not ready when we arrived at our RH but we were told it would not be well in advance. Personally I did not care but I understood that the girls with afternoon weddings were still using them. Is it possible for you to take pictures before you wedding?
