Our wedding is in 28 days and my mom still hasn't had ANY luck finding a dress!! I am going to go with her to Estelle's (AGAIN) but was hoping for some other suggestions as to places (preferably in Suffolk or on the Nassau/Suffolk border) where she can find a dress and buy it right off the rack (she doesn't have time for the alterations). Thanks in advance!!!!

My mom got hers at Macy's, Smithhaven Mall.

Thank you!! I'm going to take her for a while today- I hope we find something. My grandmother has been in and out of the hospital for months and last week everyone had pretty much given up hope but then she just made this AMAZING comeback and got out of the hospital the other day! At one point she was down to 93 pounds and she normally weighs 121. But now she's living with my mom and someone has to be with her at all times throughout the day so it's hard for my mom to leave to go shopping. But today other people will be with her so now's our chance! I'm so glad my grandmother's much better- last week she didn't think she'd be coming to my wedding and this week she had someone pick up her dress from her house so she's all ready!!!

My mom went to Nordstroms @ Roosevelt Field. She bought a dress off the rack - no alterations needed. Another gppd place is Lord & Taylor.... Good Luck!

Wow! I'm glad to hear about your grandmother doing so much better! (No wonder your mom hasn't found a dress yet.) I hope the improvement continues!!!!!! I'm sure your grandmother is so excited and happy that she can come to the wedding...
Come to think of it, my grandmother and aunt also got their dresses at Macy's! I hope you'll find the perfect dress there...

My mom got her gown at Cache in Roosevelt Field. They have a nice selection!!

Happy to hear your grandmother is doing better.
My mom got her's at Estelles, and I know you looked there already. But, they go through inventory quickly so it might be worth another try (the dress my mom bought was gone two weeks later).
Syms also had a nice selection at great prices. Also check some bridal salons - most have a clearance area that you can buy off the rack (Lydia's in Copiague had quite a few that were nice). Good luck!

Good to hear that your grandma is doing better . Good luck with the dresses! My mom and FMIL are going to look at dresses next Friday. I can't remember the name of the place but its somewhere in St. James/Smithtown area. I heard they have a nice selection and good prices.

If you ave no luck on the island, try Ivory & Co. in Staten Island. They're amazing. That's where my mom got her dress for my sister's wedding and where she plans to go for mine

FMIL got her's today at Macy's at Smithaven mall but they are ordering it for her. Not sure what they have that you can get off the rack.

My mom and I spent 5 hours between Estelles, Macys and Lord & Taylor (Huntington Mall I think was where Macts and Lord & Taylor were). She ended up buying 4 dresses at Lord & Taylor and is going to show them to my dad and decide which one she wants to wear. They told her as long as she keeps the tags on and the receipts that she can return all of them (in our case 3 of them) and get a refund. Plus she opened a Lord & Taylor credit card so she got 10% off plus the 15% coupon they had advertised right now so she saved a lot of $$$! All of the dresses she picked were between $150-$200 before the discounts and they all look wonderful so she was really happy (and me too- what a relief another thing off my checklist!!!)

That's great! Sounds like she got some real bargains. FMIL just paid over $500 for her's at Macy's she would be in heaven if she could have saved a few hundred.
