Im so sorry!! I'm a retired fighting 69th girlfriend. My FH got his honorable discharge papers this year. They get home in January, and then are redeployed in may for another 14 month tour. no one is sure if it will happen though, depending on the election. I'm so sorry about this it must be so frustrating!! FM if you need to chat!
the iraq tour next year isn't set just yet... if it turns out they do go over my FH will be deployed also but this is the Army and things change every other day with them
Aw dont stress!! Enjoy the time you have now. and remember, the more disorganized they are, the more time you get to spend with FH. They told us my FH was leaving 3 TIMES 'in 24 hours' before he actually went. I have a feeling that with the 04-06 deployment (which we did) and the 07-08 deployment now, that they will send someone else
i know FH is at ft.bragg his foot is messed up but as soon as he is relesed fom the wounded warriors whatever he is either being sent home or to afgahnistan he has been gone since january we have only seen him for 8 days since but this is the army he loves it for some reason and i accept it and support him 10000000000%

I am so sorry Jenny Try not to stress it so much, it seems like she doesn't care..and I know its easier said than done, but try to have her 'I don't care' attitude...

WOW! I'm sorry to hear this Jenny! I'm not sure why shes leaving if your Mom is not feeling well. She seems to only care about herself.

look at it this way... if she sticks with it she will have a decent paying job for as long as she stays in. plus they do pay for school along with a bunch of other perks. Once most people enlist it's in their blood and they love it for some reason.
and if you were offered a job that would pay you well with job security even if there was a family function coming up ... not saying your wedding isn't a big deal...
on the plus side the 69th as well as a lot of other tropps from LI were deployed in january so they prob won't be deployed for a while if again.
keep your head up and try not to let it bother you... but hey welcome to Army life
if you wanna talk let me know i can prob answer a lot of quesstions you may have we have been through a lot with the army over the last few years.
I feel like a :family function' is like an aunts birthday party which is way different than her sisters wedding! I thnk its great that she is thinking about her future but I do agree that she is not being so kind to you Jenny...i SO get what youre saying...

I have to say that although it stinks that she wont be there it is her future and you wouldn't expect her to say wait a year to do such and such so it is tough to do it to her.
As much as we all want our wedding to be perfect just be happy for what you have...don't get hung up on things that you can't control or have no right to control. It is just one day....and yes it will be a fantastic memorable day but to ask someone to put their life/plans on hold for a year is a little much..JMO

i really didn't mean 'family function ' in a mean way but to the military that is pretty much how they see it. I know it is a important day to you and it will still be the best day of your life. it stinks that your sister may not be there for it, but try not to stress it as i said earlier things change with them every other day . So see what her orders say in june you might have a better idea of what will be going on with her.

i didn't. However in all honesty...i wish to god it was her plans. I wish she did want to do this. But we all know she doesn't. Thats what makes it so hard.
