**UPDATED AGAIN!!!!** LIW Prayers needed for my kitty

Original post by SUbride10_08_11

Our kitty Gus was admitted to the Pet ER last night because he bit into a lily and had the pollen all around his mouth and nose. He threw up 3 times before we even got him to the ER. Apparently lilies are EXTREMELY toxic and deadly to cats and just a little bit is enough to send them into acute kidney failure Pet Poison Control told them to check his blood levels (to check his kidney function) and just give him activated charcoal and continuous IV fluids and recheck his blood work in 48 hrs. He will have to be there a minimum of 2-3 days. FH feels terrible because he is the one that bought the flowers for me and they have been in the apartment for an entire week already and neither of us knew that lilies were so toxic to cats

PLUS now I'm freaking out because our cats share food bowls and I'm afraid that some of the pollen could have fallen off Gus into the food bowl and our other cat Lily (ironic, yes I know) might have ingested some too, but we don't have another $2,000 lying around to bring her in 'just in case'....

So, any and all LIW prayers are appreciated for my kitties!

**UPDATE**- So far his 24 hr blood levels came back good, even better than his baseline ones last night....they will run them again tomorrow afternoon and if his kidney function is showing it is staying stable he can come home Monday!!!

Keep those prayers comin' girls!!!

**********UPDATE #2****************- His 48 hr blood results came back great too! They are going to wean him off the IV fluids and meds and we can pick him up tomorrow (Monday) evening!!!! Sooo happy Gus and Lily won't be 100% out of the woods until about Friday (7 days after the initial ingestion), so this is going to be the longest week ever. I think I need another weekend to recover from this stressful one!

Thank for your prayers girls
