pet wellness center in Plainview? The girl on the phone was snotty but it was the ONLY place I called that was not totally booked this week (I have this week off)
This may be TMI but I was hoping to find a groomer that cleaned the anal glands.Daisy has been scooting her bottom a little ( not all the time, just a few times) Most of the ones I called did but they were booked. The pet wellness center doesn't do it and the snotty desk girl said 'your vet does that' Is this true?

Peanut went for her first grooming 3 weeks ago. I didnt even ask about cleaninf those glands. Although they did cshave her around her booty hole...sorry if tmi!
Anyway, we used Doggy Style in Copiague. They were great. Only kept her for 2 hours and charged on $27 for everything!

Murphy's breeder said this place was very good. As far as the anal glands, I have heard that when they 'scoot' on their butts, they are making the glands release some. I also heard that if their poo is on the hard side, they are also releasing the glands. I would talk to your vet first.

im 90% sure that a vet has to drain the anal glands. dharma has to get done again. shes been scooting lately

Thanks for all your replies. I will have to keep an eye on her and see if I need to bring her to the vet.
Anyway.. Just got back from the groomer and I am crying.. Daisy looks awful! Her hair was about 4-5 inches long and she said 'i will take it down halfway) well now her hair is less than an inch.. I am not a math genuis but... COME ON!
She looks like a jerk. Her face is all cut close and none of the cute fur is around her face anymore. I told them just to trim her and leave her still fluffy. I asked why so short was she really matted. The reply comes back ' you said you wanted half way!'
I just had a medical procedure done under antesthesia (sp) and was in no mood to agrue so i picked up my pup and left...
BUT now I am so upset that her hair won't grown back in time for the wedding and she will look dumb in pictures! It is two months away. I really hope she looks better by then. I am so upset. I keep crying that our wedding pictures will be ruined!

awww poor thing! i'm sure she doesnt look like a jerk though! she couldnt! um.. months away? maybe itll grow out an inch? who knows. its her first time so you dont know how fast or slow her hair grows.

okay here are the pictures. i also posted them on 05.
The first two are her fluffy mop head and curly body.. this is the way I want her to look for the wedding.
The second two are blurry, crappy, cell phone pictures of how she looks now. My camera is broken.

I don't know. I think it looks her look like a boy! I am never going there again. I want my curly pup back

we bring becky to dapper dog in lynbrook. we're very happy with it and they're VERY nice

Oh if this was her first grooming, I want to add that a lot f the time when you bring a dog to be groomed, she comes home looking like a DIFFERENT dog, and it's hard to get used to!
