Updated: Need to vent! FH's aunt is driving me nuts!!!
First let me start off by saying I am sorry this is so long.
When we got engaged, we asked FH's 17 year old cousin who would then be 18 to be one of my bm's in our wedding party. When I first showed his aunt the dress I picked for the girls, last year, she went out the next day and decided to see where she can find the dress from and the price. Then she's telling me she found really nice shoes that have rhinestones on them blah, blah, blah. Then she starts telling me that she wants to have a snap put on the halter part of the dress (b/c it ties) this way she can be reassured her dress won't untie meanwhile she is dancing. Whatever, I blew it all off b/c the wedding was so far away. I think I've been nothing but reasonable with everything as I told my girls they can take the dresses wherever they want to get htem altered so they are not charged a fortune at Macy's and they can get whatever kind of shoes they want.
Nonetheless, I got the call the other day that hteir dresses came in and a few of my girls went last night and FH's cousin and his aunt met us there.
All the dresses were large on the rest of the girls but FH's cousin. She is a size 2. When she got measured last year, she was at least 17 lbs thinnner. Now she puts on the dress last night and looks very busty and her mom starts flipping out saying there isn't enough material to cover her and it is a manufacturer defect. The other girls dresses were large on them so you could not tell if theirs would be busty too after they are altered.
So FH's aunt starts making a scene in Macy's (i'm embarassed as are my bm's) saying that she is going to cancel payment and does not want the dress and she should not have to pay for alterations. Umm, hello, your daughter put on 17 -20 lbs since last year. Anyway, FH's aunt keeps telling me this is my problem and I should handle this.
I really can't take this anymore. It started last night and today she calls me telling me that they've spoken about it and they are not going to pick up the dress and they are gong to stop payment and find it elsewhere. AND that I should figure something out with Macy's. What am I supposed to do? I called Macy's and they told me that she can put a piece of vanity material in the middle if her cleavage is showing too much.
I called FH's aunt and told her I called Macy's and they are going to call you and this is not my problem, it's between you and Macy's now.
Macy's measured her 2x last night and said her waist is the only part that's larger than her original measurements. Her chest area stayed the same. I think if they let the sides out a bit, it will help the dress fit better on the top b/c it is a bit snug.
Girls, please help, I need some hugs....
UPDATE: I just spoke with Macy's and they told me they spoke with FH's aunt. AGain, FH's aunt told Macy's that this is my responsibility to handle this and they said no it is not. I am so happy they said that. Macy's thinks she does not want to pay the lousy $25 fee to let the dress out a bit. She mentioned to the woman at Macy's that they would order another dress and stop payment on the other and the woman told her that the color may not match then and FH's aunt said she did not care. I am so done with this situation! I can't take her anymore. Why would she act like this? I am about to cry I am so depressed. FH says if it is the $25 that is the problem he will just pay it to shut everyone up. He said he would make her feel stupid though by throwing it in her face. I will find out more tomorrow when Macy's manager calls me back... Ugghhh....
