i think the beige background is more complimenting and keeps your eye moving throughout the STD....where as the black background your eye immediately goes to your pic which contrasts a lot with the STD background, JMO though

Honestly, its such a small difference I didnt even notice at first. I think I like the black better, but they are both really nice!

Is the only difference the fading in the pic? That's all I see .... anyway I like the 2nd one better.
