So we have filled out an application for an apartment. It is only 6 blocks from my current apartment. Although I prefer my current neighborhood over the new one, the apartment is much better, so we couldn't turn it down. The apartment is almost twice the size, has double the closet space & it is in an elevator/doorman building. And we are paying $100 less a month!!! Although this economy *****, we definitely took advantage of it in this situation. Once they screen our credit and everything checks out, we should be accepted. I hope we do...keep your fingers crossed for us...

Got were approved....phew!!! We sign the lease next week and move in April 30th!!!!!!!!!

congrats! where were you guys looking? i've been checking rent.com and craigslist but are there others i should look at too?

I found this one on craigslist. For some reason I find apartments easiest on craigslist. Once I find an apartment online that I like, I call that broker and he'll show me more things. Just make sure you search in 'No Fee' because the fees are ridiculous!!!!
