updated: Who gets wedding dresses shipped to them at work?
Original post by itslaurie.
I do!
This just came for me, how fun. I love getting packages!!
Maybe this is the one, the fabric is really nice and it has a great lining.
We shall see...
Updated: ...well we saw - and although I loved the upper portion of the dress, the lower half just doesn't flatter my body type (big butt & hips). So I am still on the hunt. That was so convenient I wish all wedding dress shopping could go this way!

I did check out JCrew, and I love their style but I think its too simple for what I want.
I feel like I am being really annoying and picky about this. People have all these great suggestions and ideas, and they just don't work for me. I feel so bad for the wedding salon ladies, cause they try SO hard to work something out for me. I start to feel guilty and I keep trying to come up with creative yet polite ways to say 'I don't like that', or 'it is very pretty but its just not for me'. Its very disconcerting to me because generally I am totally not a PITA - so I do not know how to compose myself now that I am!
Oh and I put it on the original post, but the dress was perfect from the hips up - my big, 'you sure you are a white girl?' butt and hips are not made for this style of dress.

I can totally sympathize...
a word of advice, as nice as it looks..
STAY AWAY FROM SILK CHARMEUSE! it is unforgiving and usually cut on the bias...not good for hippy girls.
either embrace your curves with a mermaid type or sheath, or go a-line....

That post actually inspired me to get the dress in the first place. Keep looking and I'm sure you'll find something great. I can't even imagine how annoyed I must have made some of the sales ladies I worked with at the salons. It went like this: Lady: Here is a pretty dress Me: It's too poofy Lady: Here is a nice dress Me: I don't like the straps Lady: Here is a great dress Me: Yuck!
