UPDATED - Why? Why now?

So, I just read yet another post from a B2B or NW that is dealing with some kind of loss. There must be at least 2 a week. I've felt so badly for all of you - sometimes I comment, sometimes I don't (I just don't know what to say!) but each and every one of you are in my thoughts.

Well, now it's my turn Just this week, my friend of almost 10 years has been diagnosed with uterine cancer and now I just found out this morning my Auntie (in U.K. who practically raised my mum) has lung cancer and doesn't have very long to live. I so, so much wanted to try and get her here for the wedding and now instead I have figure out how to get my mum home.

Add this to the two other 'events' of this week that only indirectly affect me (my friend/boss' grandma died - she was SUCH a sweety and my other friend's mom is in the hospital with TWO anuerisms).

I admit I have my issues with god and religion and all that but I wonder if these things are thrown at us during this 'special' time in our life (which can sometimes be a selfish time) is just TBTB's way of strengthening us as well as humbling us.

Well, FH and I managed to get my mum home to see her sister. We gave her our 'honeymoon' - we can go to UK anytime but she had very little time to see her sister one last time. I'm SO glad I did it. Mum came back yesterday and early this morning my Auntie Marian passed away. I just knew she was waiting to see my mum before she passed on. She was in so much pain and I'm just glad she's not suffering anymore.

I'm off now to spend time with my mum. to you all.

i am really sorry.... lately there has been really sad stories all we can do it pray and listen to eachother and be here for support!!! you will be in my thoughts and prayers as many of you already are

But yeah, that's what I'm thinking. When we're all worrying about card boxes and DJs and invitations, things like this knock us down a few rungs and you start to realize what's really important.

Yes, i totally agree. I had lunch with my dad yesterday and i was upset about some things but then I realized, 'hey, i'm super lucky that I have amazing parents who are healthy and excited for me' I was lucky to have a spontaneous lunch with him....
Life is short. Relish the moments and be thankful.

I am so sorry to hear that. These things are part of life. Makes you think to just enjoy every day and the people we love because that is the only thing that is really important. My prayers are with you.
