UPDATED WITH PICS! NWR: How My Son's Hair Screwed Up My Morning, but MADE my day!

So I got up at 5am so I could work out and meditate and get to kindergarten orientation feeling refreshed and relaxed. And all started well!

The boys got up at 7:30 and I fed them and bathed them. I did Robbie's hair - he has a Mohawk - and he dressed himself... all good! We were even ready early! So I hopped on the PC and I let the kids indulge in TV (I didn't want them outside because I didn't want to chance Robbie making a mess of himself!).

Robbie comes up to me and says 'Mommy - the other kids probably don't have Mohawks... I think I want my hair flat.' He is the one who ASKED for the Mohawk because he liked it on my 22 year old nephew! So I give him a lecture about being true to himself and not worrying about the other kids and what they think and want. I am proud when he shrugs and heads back to the living room. A few minutes later I hear something going on in the bathroom. I go in and HOLY ****! Robbie is in the bathroom standing on the toilet with a bottle of hair glue in his hands! He has managed to unscrew the top and pour about half the bottle over his head and smooth it down. HE SHELLACKED HIS HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is with like - 15 minutes to go!

So I wash his hands and hair, change his gummed up clothes, blow dry him and jet off to school.

We arrive and are asked to leave the kids in class and that the parents will go to the cafeteria for a talk with the principal. After she is finished talking, we chat with the other parents and wait for the kids. I am yapping away with this one chick who seems very nice. She tells me how nice it is to have another educated & professional mom to speak to. Then she says 'Some of these other mothers... can you believe one kid actually has a MOHAWK? Who would let their five year old have a MOHAWK? Does she thinks she's Angelina Jolie or something?' Cue Robbie and his Mohawk.


His timing could not have been better. I just said 'Nah, I don't think I am Angelina Jolie, but I do think he looks pretty damn cute!' She was about 30 shades of red.

I think I lost a friend!

Robbie's do isn't showing too well in the pic... but you get the idea! Mind you I just trimmed about 2 inches off the spikes last night... imagine if she had seen his FULL ON Mohawk???
