I would flat out ask them . . . . how did this dress come to be when i was told it was a special order? and check every inch of that dress and make sure it is brand new. Did you have to pay extra for anything?

Aww I'm sorry!
My BM's had a very similar problem! When I called DB and asked when they should start ordering their BM dresses, DB said, 'NOW!'. We went two weeks ago to order and they said the dresses would be in by the end of October. I was a little upset that they told us we need to order now for my May wedding and then said they'd be here 8 months before! Lo and behold, it's the beginning of October and I got a call a couple of hours ago that the girls' dresses are in.

Eh....Davids is a major chain store so they have plenty of stock in their warehouses. They probably told you that you had to special order it just so they could get the sale right away.
Obviously go and check out your dress, try it on and whatnot. Don't worry though...you've got plenty of time.

they don't really order them
they come from a wherhouse they are all stored in different ones around the US.
When you go in to get it make sure you try it on and check it for flaws. My first dress came in crappy but they reordered it and it came in in 2 weeks

this is what i heard to. They have them in their warehouses and just get the one thats in your size for you to wear. They shouldnt lie though that its special ordered for you and made AFTER you purchase it, at least be up front about it

I was just going to say the same as the other girls. DB gowns are mass produced and stored in a warehouse. If they don't have your size in the store, they request it from the waregouse or another store and have it shipped to the store.

i would definitely ask... when i was there, the lady at the welcome desk was arguing with a bride about taking dresses off the rack and trying them on without a bridal attendent because they sell those dresses that are on the rack. i would 100% make sure!

Wow Kris, thats crazy. I would definitely check the dress from top to bottom like you said. You should also ask them why it only took a week to be ordered. It does seem kinda fishy.

are you kidding aren't the dresses on the racks FOR TRYING ON???? yeah you can buy them... they will not order you a new one if they have your size in stock they make you take that one.

Kris talk to Donna she's there Mon, Wed and Fri. She seemed the most honest one out of all of them. Just ask her honestly, and check every inch of it..... Mine was fine, I'm sure yours will be too....

Thanks girls heres the UPDATE
Called before and asked specifically why and the girl said they come from the warehouse like some of you said.... I told her it seemed quick and the she said if they have it in the warehouse its shipped as soon as possible.... I told her it still sounded fishy and I better not have one thats off the rack and cleaned or I wil be very upset.... she assured me of this.... I still dunno though gonna go next week sometime.... no time this weekend
i was also told that if I try it on or even want to examine it I have to take it that day!?!? Is that true???? I have no where to store it right now

I would definitely check it. If it is not in the condition that you would like then do not worry because now they definitely have time to get another dress in for you!

OMG that seems really odd because my sis ordered her dress at DB too and they told her it took about two months .. and it was like a month and a half .. but one week... I would be worried its a sample or return!

Re: UPDATED....HELP!! Isnt it way too early for my dress to be in???
I think that is true. My friend got her dress and tried it on and they made her take it home that day. She kept it in a spare bedroom where nobody bothered it and it all worked out well. I don't think I could deal with having my dress at home, I'd want to try it on every day! Good luck, Kris and keep us updated.
