Update!our apartment got broken into

tonight FH and I went out to dinner only to come home and find that our apartment was broken into. Our living room window was left open... But thank goodness our cats didn't escape! They took some valuables (ipod, camera, a ruby ring) but in the grand scheme of things.. it could have been worse. We go away a lot on the weekends so it will teach us to be safer.

Today was just one of those really horrible days... my anxiety was at it's worst and then to have this happen. AND tomorrow I have an interview for a nanny position that I so desperately want and NEED.

I need lots of well wishes that I get this job. Hopefully something good will happen this week after all the bad.

I just needed to come on here and let it out.

Ugh what an awful feeling. My mom's house was broken into years ago and yes, it's awful to have things taken, but just the fact that someone broke in makes you feel so violated...I'm so sorry you had to go through this!

Oh goodness, but I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. From this experience you and your FH will learn to be safer as you mentioned. In regards to the position - wishing you the best of luck! You'll do fine.

it was hard waking up this morning remembering what happened. I'm sad that they took the things they did but yeah... feeling violated...that my home isn't as safe as I thought it was.

It means SO MUCH to come on here and read all these replies. Thank you so so so so much. I will be thinking of all your good lucks..and prayers...and wishes while I'm on my interview.

Cynthia.. I am just glad you are ok.. my mom got robbed in her house in Wantagh a couple of months ago.. at least they didn't steal 1000s of dollars of stuff..

FH didn't understand why I wanted to come online Thursday night and write about what happened. But then he understood that I just needed some extra support.... and you all have given me that. I thank you so so much. We were gone this weekend and it was hard coming home remembering what just happened Thursday night... but but but..........................

GREAT NEWS... I got the job!! I had to wait ALL weekend long to found out but that phone call was the best ever!!
And...it showered today for me in Connecticut. FMiL and FSiLs threw me a wonderful shower. Pictures to come tomorrow... I am soooooooooo tired.
