Last night my fmil slipped and fell down the stairs. She broke her ankle in 3 places and is waiting surgery. She will need plates and pins put in. I'll have more information later. Thank you ladies.
UPDATE: I just spoke w/fh. Fmil is in surgery. She should be out in about 2 hours....she's in a lot of pain...I feel so bad-there is nothing I can do
Latest Update: Fmil is out of surgery, everything is fine. She is on PLENTY of pain medication. She broke her ankle, fibia and tibia (not sure on spelling) she has plates and pins holding everything together. She will be in casts for at least 4-6 months and will have to go for physical therapy. So hopefully she will feel better for the wedding, that is her concern. It was the first thing she said to the emt-'just tell me everything will be fine for July 21' Thank you all for your thoughts and hugs! You girls are the greatest!

My father had shoulder surgery this morning to repair two tears and they won't let him leave the hospital yet... so I somewhat understand how you feel! (I think his blood pressure spiked - but he'll be fine.) That's also a painful recovery! I'm sure both of them will pull through it with flying colors.
I'll keep your FMIL in my thoughts.

I hope everything works out for your dad too! After my brother had surgery last year the same thing happened to him. When he tried to move by himself....his blood pressure jumped so they kept him to watch it. I hope everything goes well!!
