i am going to try to convey what i am looking for and hope you understand and may have some pics to help give me ideas.
i am still debating on doing my hair 1/2 up 1/2 down or all up. have you seen an updo where the hair is off the neck but still hangs down, so that it doesnt look like your traditional updo with all the hair pasted back behind/on top of your head?
i have these 2 pics already saved of prior brides where their hair looks like this, but wanted to see a couple of more ideas to show my hair lady.

I'm wearing my hair up but not in a bun, similar to what you are saying, for just my ceremony and then putting it down for the rest of the day.
It's a little hard to tell from this pic - don't have one taken from the side view... and there's a stragler curl at the bottom that's hanging down, but to give you an idea... (will be adding a few sparkly pins on the day of) ETA: PIC

Heeheehee....the way that picture is taken, as I scrolled down, your hair got bigger and bigger and bigger.....I thought you had a GINORMOUS amount of hair, until I got to your shoulders and realized the top was a reflection.
