Uplighting

For those of you who are using uplighting, how did you approach this task? Did you call for quotes first, then visit vendors? Only call for quotes and book over the phone? Did they give you demonstration of the lights so you knew what to expect/book?

Any recommendations for companies would be good too!!

So far I was going to call Prestige Lighting Events, Apple Entertainment and Brilliance Events (they partner with Code Bleu our band). Any reviews on these companies?

Groove New York LED Lighting:

We used Groove New York lighting and couldn't have been happier. They gave us an entire selection of colors to choose from and since they are very familiar with East Wind (along with many other halls) they was able to help us decide which colors would look best for our reception. Their prices were very competitive to what is out there. They responded promptly to any questions and concerns and made me feel at ease. I couldn't believe how the uplighting made the room look. When they asked my husband and I to look at the room right before the guest entered, we were WOWED by the way it looked. We were shown the room with no lights and then with the lights on and boy, it changed the room 100% (in a good way). What else was nice is that the lights are WIRELESS which kept the room looking clean (no wires). They really are a great company and I would recommend them to anyone.
