Uplighting at the Woodlands?

Uplighting at the Woodlands?

Getting married at the Woodlands next September and I'm trying to figure out what kind of vibe I want for the reception room. I definitely want centerpieces with a lot of candles because to me, there's nothing more romantic than a candlelit room
However, because the Woodlands is an old mansion and the decor is rather dark, I'm concerned that the room will be too dark once the sun goes down. I was wondering if there are any Woodlands brides out there who used uplighting. I am thinking about using it, but without going over the top and making it cheesy. Does anyone have any pics? Or advice!

Thanks!
Lisa

Im not at the Woodlands but at a similar type feel venue. We are doing 10-15 LED uplights only. We want it to still feel like an old mansion with all its antique flair!

I'm a 2010 crasher - I don't think you'll need uplighting - the place is elegant enough. You don't want to lose the 'beauty and the beast' feel.

We're doing luminaries in the backyard in the evening - so it has a nice warm glowing feeling...which won't take away the feel of the woodlands.

I am doing the same. I felt exactly the same way as you about my RH being dark once the sun goes down. We are doing about 10-15 spot lights around the room, but we definitely do not want to take away from it.

thanks for posting this! The room looks beautiful!

I don't think I'm doing uplighting at the woodlands...I went there for a showcase which was at nighttime and the ballroom was actually BRIGHT. I think our BM said they can brighten and dim all the chandeliers and sconces to the amount of light that you want, so I dont really think uplighting is a necessity
