Now that I think about it, I have no idea why I wanted uplighting if our reception is at 1 in the afternoon. What do you girls think? I'm starting to think its def not worth it?? idk if any of you are familiar with it, but we're getting married in the garden room at the Westbury Manor.

Re: Uplighting for a daytime wedding
I had considered it but the natural lighting is so amazing in our room that we decided against it.
I think it depends how well lit your room is.. if it's kind of on the dark side even during the day it may still look beautiful!

UGH! I do like the lighting in the room, this is the room that opens up into the garden. the whole back wall has the french doors
I'm starting to think its a waste of 300$

Well if the drapes are drawn it might stand out. What does your DJ say?

The DJ said the same thing, if I really wanted it, we could make sure the drapes stayed down, and that would add to the effect, but idk its still daytime...

Re: Uplighting for a daytime wedding
When we were looking for a venue, we saw the Garden Room on a late afternoon in September... and while the French doors allow a lot of beautiful light in, the room is long... so the back of the room was kinda dim.
It's not going to be 1pm all day, and I don't know which direction the sun takes in relation to those French doors, KWIM? so at some point, it may be bringht, but then not so much cause the doors are the only windows int he room and they're on one end.I'd keep the lighting, IMO. And, God forbid, knock wood, it rains, then it's going to be REALLY dark in there!! You can always leave the lights off for the beginning and turn them up later.

When I asked our DJ about uplighting, he said it would be a waste of money since the daylight will be flooding in. I don't know who you have but they should have told you this.
