FH and I...well more me, am deciding on whether or not uplighting is worth the extra expense.
We have a band so they don't provide uplighting. what's a reasonable price for uplighting?
TIA~

I voted for yes, but that's my opinion. I'm having it and I feel it makes the room look stylish and different!

Re: Uplighting: is it worth it?
I personally think it's worth it. it really changes the mood of the room and looks great in pictures. IMO, if you are already spending a fortune on a wedding, why not spend a few extra $ to make sure the ambiance is right? that said, it can be very expensive or very reasonable. my RH has it built in and they originally told us $2K to flip the switch and turn on the lighting but then we talked to the BM about it and he said he won't put it down in our contract, but to let him know 2 weeks before we want to add it on as a 'last minute addition,' and he will only charge us a few hundred.

I'm the same way - a few little extras here and there add up! But I also keep telling myself I would rather regret spending more than I had to than looking back and wishing I had something I didn't! Besides, I can save money by eating less leading up to the wedding
Not really. if you have a beautiful room already., Why try to take away from that. Plus if it becomes an added expense, i say save you money for something more important.

For us - totally worth it! The dining area in our hall can get a little dark so we are hitting it with uplighting to brighten it up.

FH said this also but sometimes i feel like our room is a little dark and could use some brightening up.

Re: Uplighting: is it worth it?
i think it all really depends on your room i wasnt sure either so i did a search on the brides review forum for my hall and looked thru all of the reviews for pics of my RH room with and without uplighting (yes i spent an insane about of time doing this ) but it really helped my decision. some rooms just call for the extra lighting. so it makes it worth it.

We saved it for the end but I think we're getting it now. We always wanted it because it makes such a difference in the vibe but knew it wasn't a necesity kwim?
I think it gives it a more loungey feel though so that people get up and dance
