Can anyone share their experiences with me re: UPromise. Have you seen anything start to really 'grow'? I know spending habits are different and that is the basis of the program. I noticed that they are very limited in the stores they are affiliated with, however, some of their products I do use. I would love to know how many of your Mommies bothered with it. Also, did you start it when your child was born? We are not TTC until sometime next year, but I started it now figuring I would get it started ahead of time. What do you think??

Re: UPROMISE??
I use it. Only started it recently - but hey better late then never. One thing I found is I thought it went into the account right away, but it may actually take up to 3 months from date of purchase to show on your statement.

I do it too. I don't have chick or child but hey maybe one day.
I haven't seen substantial savings. I have only been doing it for about two months. I guess in the long run it will add up.

Re: UPROMISE??
Oh good, I am glad I am not the only one. I put in my name for the child's name. They say you can always change the name later. So I am saving now for my unborn child. I think it is a great idea. Now, it just gives me an excuse to spend more money. When DH says, 'did you really need that', I will say, 'Yes, because a 'small' portion of it goes to UPromise!' :)

Re: UPROMISE??
I started using it in January and I am not planning to TTC for about 4 yrs. I already have a little more than $5.00. I use gas from Exxon and buy alot from Bed Bath & Beyond that seems to be making it grow. What I buy from the supermarkets its really not much? Anything helps for the future even if its a small amount. The way I see it is I need food, gas and other things anyways, why not have that small portion of it go into something important like this?

Re: UPROMISE??
I signed up for it last year. I have not seen any huge amounts of sacings, but they are adding thins all the time. I have no children yet, and will not TTC for another 2-3 years, but its worth saving something....after 18 years (unles i ahve a genious kid) it will hopefully have made SOMETHING!

Re: UPROMISE??
I signed up for it before the baby was born and now it's starting to add up from lots of Babies R Us purchases. You can have your family designate their cards too so your Mom or someone can rack up contributions for your child/future child. Just remember that if you have a debit card that you can use as a credit card, you must use it as a credit card to get the Upromise credit. If you use it where you put your PIN in, you will not get Upromise credit. It costs nothing to sign up for so it's definitely worth it, IMO.

Re: UPROMISE??
hi all...
we don't have kids yet and aren't even married but both fh and i have upromise linked to our cc's - figure maybe one day it will pan out and in the meantime it doesn't cost us anything - unfortunately at the rate it seems to grow we'll be having kids at like 90.....!!!

I signed up for it too Denise. I figure, hey it's free and what the heck. I linked my mom's cards to mine, since she does a ton of food shopping. Hopefully in about 20 years, it'll be a decent amount. I think I have about $10 in it now and I've had it for about 4 months. I didn't name a child yet ... you can do that later on!

Re: UPROMISE??
Citi offers a Upromise credit card which earns money for all purchases, on top of what you earn from participating stores. You girls should check it out.
I'm considering it too, even though I don't have any children.
