Upset

Upset

So FH and I found our dream house in the beg on Jan... put in an offer they accepted.. then there was drama with the real estate agents so our deal was dead.. they call us a week later saying they would accept it again... after they accepted the offer they were stalling and stalling and wouldn't respond to any phone call (the real estate agent thinks they were trying to sell it for hire behind our back) then they told us to sign the contract without an inspection which we would never do.. so finally last sat they let us inspect it BUT the owner hasnt had heat on and refused to turn it on.. so we couldn't inspect if the pipes were working.. ugh! then more drama with the seller being stubborn.. then they finally wrote a contract.. and now today the owner decides he 'dosnt want to deal with us and that the deal is dead'

so upset right now.. the seller has been playing games with us for over a month.. we have been sooo stressed out and now we dont even have our dream house

FH is a mess b/c he worked so hard to make a deal and has been on the phone for hours a day with these people.. and now we just got screwed over...

sorry for the long vent... but its just very upseting

i dont know.. through out the entire process he has been so rude.. including all the real estate agents... i can't believe how bad my first experience buying a house has been

his lawyer even said that he is nuts for letting go of a buyer in this market.. esp since the house was on the market for a year now!

Maybe he was hiding something or doesn't really want to seel A better house will come along....I know its easy for me to say that, but I do think what is meant to be will happen, you will find a better house with a seller who isn't crazy.

That's exactly what I was thinking...with every other house on the block for sale in most neighborhoods, why would you pass up a willing buyer? Well it's just as well because he would probably jerk you around through the whole process. You'll find another house - an even better one! Everything happens for a reason.

I'm so sorry you're going through this now. But honestly, I'd RUN the other way. It's better to fall through now than when you're sitting at the closing.

Ohh no! That stinks! There are so many headaches involved in home buying. I hope everything works out!

Sorry... but remember everything happens for a reason. Better this happened than you get in the house and everything goes wrong with it.

Re: Upset

I know it's hard to see right now, but I think this was a blessing. The seller is clearly hiding something.

How could he expect someone to buy a HOUSE and not let them inspect the heat and pipes? It's not like it's pants you can return. It's a house.

And all of his stalling is just suspicious. The market is terrible, and this guy was clearly trying to screw you guys, it seems to me. He doesn't want to deal with you guys anymore because you were smart and thorough, and he realized he wasn't going to pull one over on you.

I know this is only my opinion, but I think you dodged a bullet on this one. remember the movie The Money Pit?

He wanted you to sign a contract without an inspection? That says it all right there.

I'm so sorry you're sad, but seriously, I think congratulations are in order. You will find your dream house. I really think this one would have turned into a nightmare.

Aww that really *****! I hope you find another house! I'm sure in the end you'll be glad you didn't get that house. Life is funny like that.

Re: Upset

I am so sorry to hear this. I went through the same thing TWICE with two different homes. Very aggravating when all you do is sit and wait and people screw you over in the end but you know what, it's ok. Just think, it wasn't meant to be and our dream house is still out there somewhere... just think of it as, it gives you more time to save.

Re: Upset

it is the worst feeling in the world to want something soooooo bad and it just doesn't work out, no matter how hard you try. We did the same thing with the first house we were serious about! there were soooo many issues, and it was heartbreaking to finally not end up in that house. But, you have to look at it as 'it's just not meant to be, and there is a good reason for it'./ Don't worry, keep looking, another one will come around even better than that one :)
good Luck!!!
