URGENT!!! ADDRESSING INVITE QUESTION

i was just on the encore studios website & they say the proper way to address (a married couple) is:

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
{the word 'and' spelled out}


not
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith...

can you tell me what you did....i am giving my list to the printer tonight!!!

I did Mr. and Mrs.

I believe that is the proper way to write it out.
