Urgent Help!

When you went to apply for your marriage licence: do they onlu accept money order?

In New York State, you cannot apply for a marriage license more than 60 days from your wedding. There is also a 24-hour waiting period for your license. There is information under wedding services above:

I paid with a money order.. i know they dont accept checks.. not sure about cash

I asked DH and he is almost postitive he paid with cash. But then again he did not know what day of the week this was.....

we didn't have a money order. But I don't remember how we did pay. Probably cash.

I think every town hall is different, we paid with cash.

It's $25 in all counties of NY except the city. There I think it's $30.

We paid cash (at Town of Oyster Bay Town Hall on OB), but I think each place may be different. Call ahead, it can't hurt.

Picture identification, (current driver's license or current passport), social security number, fee- $25.00.

A certified copy of your birth certificate or Baptismal certificate.

Know mother's first name and father's full name plus countries of birth.

If not first marriage, bring certified copy of final divorce decree with date granted.

If ended in death, certified copy of death certificate.

Under 18 years of age, need parent consent.

Between 18 and 21 years of age, need birth certificate plus photo identification.

There is a 24 hour waiting period, and the license is good for 60 days.

I went to the Huntington town hall this past friday. We made an appointment for 7pm (friday is their late night) and we paid by CHECK

We went to the office in Manhattan and we were told they only accept money orders. I had a check with me and they wouldn't take it, nor do they take cash. I remember we walked a few blocks to find a money order place and then went back on line. Hope this helps!
