I have to vent & my FH is working right now & can't talk.....
Master Card just called me to question two recent purchases from Oregon one for $952.39 and the other TODAY for $620.10!! I live in BROOKLYN!! I've never been to Oregon! O MY GOD! I hate people! So much! I just had to cancel my credit card, and my heart is broken because I do so much shopping online (lesson learned now!) & was planning on loads of stuff for the wedding to use this one (because I get points!) What total losers people are! Unbelievable!
Sorry I just had to vent. It's all I can do not to cry right now! Thanks

I once had a 600$ bar tab from London show up on my credit card, they just took it off. Good luck with everything

Nightmare!!! But it will be fine, it's better if it's not your checkcard, that can take longer to fix. Also, the further away they are, the better, so there is NO QUESTION that it was not you!!!
Damn Oregoners!! What are they buying out there? Binoculars to look at the better states nearby? (hehe, no offense Oregon, just mad at the thieves)

Don't let it discourage you, your credit card comp should be able to clear it up.
And you just have to learn from who to shop and who not to shop. Use paypal for smaller shops when you can.

It's happened to me before too! Don't worry about it, at least your cc company called you and it will be cleared up. I got a call from my card saying that someone was trying to buy $5000 worth of tickets to a boxing match in Atlantic City!
After that I got one cc that I only use online and monitor it every two weeks or so... Everything will work out. Most cc companies will transfer your points to a new card and put an alert on your credit reports that someone was trying to use your information.

Thanks everyone! My FH just got a break at work & was swearing up and down that it 's the Mets tickets we just got (he's a Yankee fan!) lol! I'm calming down I just cannot believe the gall of some people! I'll never drink Starbucks again! I'm protesting Oregon! LOL

wow! i just had $1000 charged today from Cali on my MC. weird. they had some good taste though....cameras, phones, clothes, etc, etc

my dad was being charged 800 from verizon, and the address of whoever was using his credit, was the building next to us.

Thats so sad. It makes you really wonder about people. I have had this happen 3 times. Someone was stealing money for me for over a year a little bit at a time and I thought it was an accountign error on my part. They took over 3K over a year. It was hell. I shop online too but its very dangerous. I hope things work out.

I wish I could get a hold of them & wring their necks! The number I got from MC is wrong too. I am so mad! It's just unfair. I work hard to pay my bills on time every month( so I can keep shopping) & manage to keep a low balance (cause I keep shopping) & some jerk comes and totally screws with you! It's totally frustrating.

dont be discouraged. this is why when shopping on the net always use your cc not a debit card. your cc company should credit u for the charges. amex is the best when it somes to this, they credit u right away & open up a 30 day investigation. it is the only card i use for purchases.

Happened to me some years ago and the CC company not only called me, but put s 'freeze alert' on the card. I called up and they were very helpful with not only issuing me a new card and reversiing charges, but I asked for all additional info since it was attempting to be used to book a 4 night stay at a nice manhattan hotel. Only reason it was declined was b/c the person who tried checkingin didnt have ID and the card to prove identity (it was in my wallet). Never happened until I worked in the city and used my CC once at a smaller store to purcase an item. Never again! Small cheap stores only use cash now.
Now for certain items online I purchase with my AMEX only! they are amazing. Been loyal cardholder for 11 years

I had someone steal my CC # and buy domain names all over the internet... And I onyl realized afetr i got a strange call from some domain company saying my site is now up and running... Thats when I looked on my bill and saw the charges. called the CC comp immediately and they cancelled the card but i had to dispute the charges and find a notary to sign off on it.... that was the most dificult part... they are nonexistant now!
