US Airways...VENT!!!
Ok, so like I said before, we had an ordeal getting to my BFF's wedding in Cabo. Sorry this is long, but they really screwed us several times.
Also, I realize these things happen with airlines, but the same thing we went thru, the bride went thru the day before (she left sunday, we left monday). So this wasn't a situation out of their control.
Our flight was supposed to leave @ 7am, and we were catching a connecting flight in Phoenix. They delayed our flight for 'crew rest'...they said it's mandated by the FAA that the crew has to rest a certain amount of time. I thought that was complete BULL because they told the bride the same thing Sunday...by Monday, they should have been rested. So after an HOUR of trying to find us a different connecting flight since we were going to miss ours, they finally found an aeromexico flight for us to take. BTW, Aeromexico was great - they fed us on both flights, and alcohol is free!!!!
So the lady @ US Air transferred out tickets over to Aeromexico, gave us a confirmation #, and told us to go to baggage claim to try and get out luggage so we could bring it to Aeromexico instead. So FH and I go to baggage claim, where they tell us that our luggage was on the runway, and they could not access it, so we would have to wait til Tuesday or Wedneday for it to be delivered to us in Mexico.
So at this point I am FUMING. We go to the Aeromexico terminal, try to check in, and they inform us that US Air screwed up yet again, and issued FH an e-ticket, but issued me a paper ticket. Since I didn't have an actual paper ticket, I could not board unless a purchased a ticket. So we had no choice but to pay $400 to get a stupid paper ticket. It was either that, or miss our flight, and 'possibly' make a flight the next morning, but it wasn't guaranteed. Since the wedding was on Tuesday, and I was in it, we really had no choice.
Our luggage wasn't delivered to us until Tuesday evening. And now I have to go thru the process of trying to get our $400 back from US Air for their mistake.
Oh, and also...they ripped my friend's luggage to shreds....and mine as well on the way home.
Anyone flying US Air, beware. Talking to other people in Cabo, it turns out they are known for delays..had I known that before, I never would have booked them. And I never will again.
