Has anyone heard of the US Merchant Marine Academy? Where is it located and do they have a website?

I have not even seen it yet - I just heard it was very nice. Can you tell me a little about it?

Re: US Merchant Marine Academy

Well, to start off I should probably mention that you need to either be an alumni, student, Merchant Marine, Navy reserve etc to get married there (or be real close to someone who is). They have a chapel on the premise as well. Their Officers Club is called Melville Hall, thats where they have wedding receptions. You can also have an outdoor cocktail hour there. One of the main selling points is that there is no Sales tax!!!!!!!!!!
if you want more info let me know.
PS - you can only book one year in advance!!!

Thanks for the info. The best man (my fiance's brother) is an alumni. Just wanted to know what people thought of it!

I'm getting married there!!! It's amazing, but beware of the manager. He's a little rough around the edges, but will make sure your day is perfect. I can't wait! FH graduated from KP.
