Use your wedding to give back!!! (registry, favors, invites, etc)

I knew even before I was engaged that I wanted to use my wedding as an opportunity to give back. I am found some great ways to give back to charities (other than just favors). If anyone is interested let me know!

I agree- a cousin of mine sponsored a kitten for a year when they got married. I thought that was a nice thing to do (we are all animal lovers)

I was thinking of making a donation to the Cancer society but was afraid people would get upset that they werent going to go home with a gift.

I think its great idea!

I personally think there is no better way to receive a gift...Think about it..what do you do with wedding favors??? If I do a favor it will be an environmentally friendly one like plantable seating cards or something eco friendly.

Personally (just my opinion) it is selfish if people walk out of a wedding mad that they didnt receive some little favor instead of a donation going to a charity in need!!!!

We are actually doing both. We got cookie favors and we're going to have a little donation card as well. Of course we would have given a larger donation if not paying for the cookies but we figure we donate to various things all year long, especially the charity we are choosing (animal-oriented) so it's not as big of a deal for us.
