Used Wedding Dresses NEED ADVICE!!!!

Hi ladies. So I am BEYOND in love with a Lazaro dress. I did what every bride shouldn't do... fall in love with a designer gown that is REALLY expensive. So... (I'm always super detailed with everything including money..! :D) I am able to get the dress for $3777.00 (this is with the 1000.00 off they the store gave me already).... then I will have to spend another 500.00 between bustle and alterations. I found the dress on a preowned wedding dress website for 1500.00 and it is basically almost the same size as I am. I would have to have it shipped from california. Can anyone give advice as to whether or not this is a good or bad idea? I would be saving a significant amount of money- (no tax, no bustle, etc).... Thank you!!!!

Also- if I did order it new.. I don't know if I would order it in white instead of the ivory it comes in either! Decisions decisions!

Is it coming from a former bride or a store? Either way, make sure they guarantee that it will be SPOTLESS (no stains, no yellowing, etc. especially the armpit area and the neckline where makeup always ends up) and that it's completely enact with no tips or tears or holes anywhere. Triple check the return policy too.

The dress is from a pre-owned website where the bride posts up her dress. She showed me a picture of one dime size hole through the tule in the train. You can't even see it. She said there were not other marks. She had it cleaned and preserved.

I would do it. I mean, I'm all about saving money and while the 'bad karma' thing is a little eerie, that big of a savings kind of negates any bad energy for me.

Is it a reputable site? Does the seller have ratings? Def agree about asking herfir aalternations!! If the dress was taken in you might need it let out and that is hard fir a seamstress....& costly! Also I would try the dress on in the a store first! The dress I had my heart set on wasn't the dress for me. You might not like it and u might not be und size you think u are!! Every designer is different! My dress was ordered in an 18, another dress I tried on by a different designer was a 24 and fit perfectly!!

I sold my first wedding dress on Preownedweddingdresses.com and it was a great experience for both me and the buyer! It's a reputable site but obviously the users don't have 'ratings' because most are first time brides looking to sell their dress. I think its a great idea if you love this dress. I have too been looking on the site but I haven't found any of the dresses I've been eyeing and PLUS the dress I love is pretty affordable new anyways.

Just a thought--you may want to try to negotiate further. If it would help with your decision, give it a try!

I've already chatted with FH that I might sell my dress after the wedding as well.

I'd go for it. If it is the site that gonnabefrank mentioned I've looked at it several times and gave heard great reviews.
