Ushers

Are ushers necessary?

If so, can some of the GMs double as ushers?

Re: Ushers

The GM's served as ushers at the last wedding i went to. I am having some guys that we were unable to ask to be in the bridal party do it. I think it is a good way to get those other special people involved. We are also going to have my cousin hand out the programs.... just to make him feel special too!

for our wedding, and the other weddings i've been in, the GMs doubled as ushers..... then when it was time to start the ceremony, they took their place up front next to the groom....

Re: Ushers

one of my friends from college had a HUGE wedding, so she had ushers along with the groomsment to seat people, otherwise it would have taken forever, I believe they wore similar/same tux, but different color bout.

We were originally going to have only a MOH and BM.. then realized that we would need some ushers. Every wedding I have ever been to, the GM doubled as ushers, so now we are slightly expanding our wedding party so that we can have some ushers!!!

I've never been to a wedding were the GM's were NOT the ushers... I always thought it was the same thing. We are having our GMs serve as the ushers. It works out well because usually there are at least some of your GM's that are family members so they know what side of the church, or wherever to seat people without having to ask all the time.

Re: Ushers

We have 2 groomsmen and 1 usher. All 3 will escort guests to seats. This way the Best Man can stay with the Groom.
