Fh has a friend whom he had a falling out with a few years ago. We were not invited to his wedding and we didn't talk for over a year. Well, over the past year they have rekindled their friendship and have become very close again. FH and I have already made our party up and I really like the semetry of 5bm and 5gm. FH wants to include him but I feel it will only start more trouble for his other firends. So I came up with a solution. What if we make him and one other guy ushers? they can help seat guests at the ceremony and then one can walk my mom in and the other walk FH's grandmother in. They can both dress like the groomsmen and even be in pics. The only difference is they wouldn't stand in front with FH. They could also sit between FH's mother and father (divorced) as buffers during the ceremony. What do you think??? Do you think this would work?

Re: Ushers
I think it really depends on what you both want. How does FH feel about having him as an usher? Personally, I would tell my FH to make the decision since it is his friend.
We didn't have an even number of guys and girls and it looked fine.

Re: Ushers
sounds like a good solution to me - just as long as FH agrees go for it

This. Plus we had an 'usher' but I guess he didn't understand what being an usher entailed and pretty much wound up as another GM. ::Shrug:: It was fine. We had DOUBLE the number of guys as we did girls!
