Re: Using Make-up Counters in mall for wedding
i used a girl in the BE store...it was $120 for me i think and $80 for everyone else? i'm not sure anymore...i didn't pay her so i don't recall!
each girl has different prices at every spot. just shop around and see what you like.
a good way to get a great makeover is to go in and say taht you are attending a party/wedding later that night and that you would like a makeover...it's free and they'll be working to make you look FABULOUS not just flawless!
ETA---for those wondering, the make up girls at the counters and stores often to 'freelance' work for weddings and such...just ask!

Re: Using Make-up Counters in mall for wedding
I had a trial with Laura D'Angelo from Bobbi Brown in Bloomingdale's. She was very knowledgeable and personable. Her rate is $150 for the bride and the trial is free. I forget how much BMs are.
She was great but I personally preferred a different trial for myself so I didn't end up booking her. She's been doing this for something like 10 years though so she knows her stuff.

I had a trial w/Mac...I like the makeup but the girl made me look like I was going to work the street rather than get married!...she knew I was there for a wedding trial too... it was just too much for me!

Re: Using Make-up Counters in mall for wedding
I think I am just going to go to my usual hair dress (of 5+ years). The down side of her is they only have an appointment early in the AM and I need to drive to her. But if it'll give me piece of mind that she knows my hair and I am not paying a fortune, then I had to go that route.

Re: Using Make-up Counters in mall for wedding
I originally went to 2 make up counter people for my make up trials, including the girl that ALWAYS does my make up and who I LOVE. I wasn't crazy about either trial. The colors were wrong, the make up wore off too soon, etc. After thinking that no one could ever get it right, I finally sucked it up and paid for a trial for me and my mom with Jacqueline Nicole, and had half our faces done with airbrush and half with regular foundation... we LOVED the airbrushing!! It lasted SO long (over 24 hours!). And she just instinctively knew what colors to use! Plus, she's a pleasure to work with! We booked her on the SPOT!

That's who I booked! I went for three trials, took pics, and sent the pics to a few close friends. Everyone who saw me in person and in the pics agreed that Jillian of Gorgeous Faces did the best job.

Try Bobbi Brown. They specialize in wedding makeup. An artist may even be able to come to your house
