Using the Fox Hallow Inn or LI Marriotte, but not having the actual wedding there

I've heard wonderful things about the Fox Hallow for weddings except for one thing that I really don't care for and that's that they do more than one wedding at a time. Otherwise, I think the place would be perfect for my wedding - outdoor ceremony ability, great food and a place to sleep all in one! The LI Marriotte cannot hold an outdoor ceremony - so that's out too. I'm leaning more toward nassau cty than suffolk b/c of airports and other considerations for now.

However, we are looking at other venues this spring such as the North Ritz Club, the Woodbury Country Club and The Woodlands (also in Woodbury). I am thinking a Friday afternoon wedding possibly to save some money over a Saturday or a sunday and I'm thinking that instead of lengthening the reception, I'd just like to have a casual afterparty for those who want to stay up a while with the ability for guests to stay nearby. The other option for me would be the LI Marriotte since FH has a lot of rewards points there. Either way I'd like to do a next day brunch and maybe even a dinner the night before. We have a lot of friends and family from out of town. How can we arrange transportation for our guests to the hotels from the airports? Also, how can we arrange transportation for our guests from whichever hotel to the venue? Or is it just anticipated that when you go to a wedding out of town you have to pay on your own for a cab or rental car? For the most part - I decline attendance at out of town weddings for this reason, but if there is a way to make this easier on people, that would be great!

It all looked so easy when I was watching American Wedding on New Year's eve!

Talk about a wedding where everything went wrong at first!

Usually if you book at least 10 rooms you can get shuttle transportation which will bring your guests to the reception and back (the cost is included in the price of the room), I know the holiday inn does it. Also I think some of the hotels offer free transportation to and from the airport when it is for a wedding and you are blocking out rooms. Which Marriott are you talking about bc we are using the Marriott in Islandia and they do not provide a shuttle to the wedding (but do provide it to and from the airport) but they do recommend a company to go through for shuttle transportation.

We blocked rooms at the Wyngate Inn on Stewart Ave Garden City. I can not rave about this hotel enough. We blocked rooms through Jessica. Both Jessica and Cheryl were great. I went to the hotel and I was able to look at the rooms before blocking them. I looked at the different room types and cleanliness. The decor is really nice and yes they were very clean. We had 18 rooms but if you take at least ten they give you one round trip shuttle service or a bridal suite for the night. They use Ollies transportation. I droped off goodie bags for my guests and they assured each room recieved thier bag. Also there is a expanded continental breakfast in the AM. The block price was $149, It was well worth it.

Good Luck with your choice, I hope this helped.
