it definitely will - is it a wine color? i think it will look good with ivory, maybe not so great if your dress is stark white.

whew I just had a itty bitty panic...we were so smitten with the BM gown I didn't bother to see it near my dress...the dress is euro cinnamon which comes off like a burnt deep reddish sienna or deep rust reddish brown

you really think so? sometimes I worry about how certain colors may work against a stark white...or if certain colors will make my ivory appear more like white next to them.

now here's another question...would u just have your groomsmen in a black tux with ivory shirts and possibly a rust-ish tie??? or just a black tie? or would you stick with the warm colors and go for brown suits?

ALSO ...and this is what really worries me...FH already opened his mouth and told best man to wear his dress blues (he's a marine)...is it gonna look stupid for me to have these rust gowns and black tuxes AND 1 Best man in his dress blues on top of that? I don't care that he wears his dress blues...its more about will it ruin the color scheme and male everything look sloppy or not put together?

Of course, I have seen soo many BM colors go with all diff kinds of gowns. Yours is beautiful, you can do any color. YOu are getting married in Oct so its a perfect color and I think chocolate tuxes/suits will go great
