uugggghhh NEED YOUR HELP!!! (anyone in or near nassau/queens)

UUUGGGGH - i am SO creeped out that i can't even sleep....so the hubby & i have had our apartment for almost 10 months now....we have NEVER had a bug problem. well guess what??!?!?!!! we got new neighbors about 3 weeks ago....and since sunday our apartment has had quite a number of unwanted 'quests'...i am so annoyed and SO grossed out. i want them GONE before this becomes a problem...and the worst part is that we're throwing a party on friday ALL WE NEED IS TO HAVE FREAKIN' COCKROACHES ROAMING AROUND!!! ANYWAYS, so i just wanted to know if anyone knows of a good exterminator that isn't going to cost a fortune...we were going to call terminex but i heard their super $$$$$$$....someone please help this is so gross...i almost feel embarrassed for posting about pests in our place but i guess it comes with living in the city...i'm just so mad 'cause we haven't had ANY for 10 months...we get new neighbors & then boom...ugh. sorry ladies for the vent - just wanted to see if anyone could help. any info would be appreciated!!! TIA

Don't be embarssed! It is just something that happens when you live in the city. I don't have any reccomendations for you but I figured I'd post and tell you not to be embarssed.

i'm sorry that i don't have a suggestion, but don't be embarassed at all!

Everyone has bugs at some point. We're dealing with an issue now ourselves. It has nothing to do with the way we live or anything, we're not pigs. I was embarassed at first too untill all my friends told me they have similar problems every once in a while.

We don't think you're dirty!

Are you renting or owning??? that is the landlords responsibility if you are renting and you can demand it be done IMMEDIATELY!!! It in violation of tons of Health Codes!

If you don't rent, then call ARROW they're really reliable and pretty quick!

I live in Queens, I feel your pain. The buggers usually come around during the summer months, especially in the humidity. I would say the move didn't have much to do with it, they were there all along! This summer I haven't seen many, but with the humidity they are around more.

If you rent, your landlord should be taking care of pests. If you own a condo or co-op, this is usually the responsibility of the condo or co-op association. Contact them and GOOD LUCK!

Knockout pest control... not expensive. I used 'em.

ugh!!! SOrry!!! they might be WATERBUGS, don't worry this is a problem that's easily fixed!!!
Call Jimmy @ 347.742.6539, he's based in Brooklyn but did my mom's house in queens (she had a mouse!) recently!! Great guy, and you can trust him!!!!!

I don't know of a specific exterminator, but a cat always helps.
It may sound crazy, but for a quick solution, if you don't have a cat, but know someone who does, have them bring their cat over for a few hours!

My cat is the best exterminator there is! I think I see a bug once every few months!

A-Liminate Pest Control 718-843-5372 but you really shouldn't be paying for it if you rent, you could pay for it if the landlord wont help you in a timely manner and submit the receipt with your rent and deduct the cost.
